^ IMS updated, tasteful mods trade in your M3 right now. LOC @ 3% gogogo :fuckyea:

westopher 01-19-2015 10:50 PM

I've got cash for it, so no need on the LOC, but goddamn. I've put so much into the e36. I should at least test drive it. Honestly if I had a garage I'd just go buy it and keep the e36. Fucking stupid vancouver and its stupid lack of room.:okay:

You wouldn't have this problem if you bought your own house. :suspicious:

Spoiler!

Spoiler!

Now's not the time to contemplate!
test drive it, ask how much he'll give you on the trade and change your name to westopher911. You know no matter how much you put in the M3, it'll never drive like a 911!!

Of course do your due diligence and if there's something shady you can keep the M3.

On serious note, I guess the flaws are that it has a beige interior and the 1999 boxster headlights. But from the pics it looks like the previous owner took good care of it.

westopher 01-19-2015 10:59 PM

Yeah the interior is terrible. The interior in my e36 is amazing. Thats part of what makes it tough. I'm definitely going to check it out. Most of me doubts I'll pull the trigger, as I'm a pretty conservative guy with my money, but this makes me wish I wasn't such a pussy.

^ such a #YOLO statement lol

On the bright side you can wait until interest rates go up and people with high debts and mortgages start selling off their assets like michael jackson you can probably scoop up a 2002+ 996 or dare I say turbo for a decent price.

Traum 01-19-2015 11:19 PM

For me, listening to my gut generally seems to work quite well. But this is of course after I've done all my due diligence stuff -- including a thorough test drive and the usual inspection.

Westopher, my guess is, after you've driven the car, feel it out, and inspected its condition, you'd have a pretty good idea whether you'd want it. Once the emotional part is taken care of, you can sort the logical stuff out to see if it makes any financial sense to pick up the Porsche.

knight604 01-19-2015 11:27 PM

let me stop you there , that interior is atrocious

herman 01-20-2015 12:25 AM

Arguments against: 5 chain motor, factor in cost/labour for a new water pump and AOS.

Make sure the clutch was replaced with the oem dual mass flywheel and the IMS upgrade was the LNE version.

Please find a good tech to do the PPI.

PM if you'd like me to put the fear of god into you.

The_AK 01-20-2015 12:53 AM

Maybe its just the colour scheme but the interior is very bland imo :( otherwise i'd be interested especially with the IMS already upgraded (assuming I'd be able to cover maintenance)

hud 91gt 01-20-2015 01:58 AM

I like the interior. Drive it. If it feels like every other 2000+ car it won't quite have the same feeling your M is giving you. But I've never driven a Porsche, so really I'm talking out my ass.

thumper 01-20-2015 07:03 AM

don't do it!

just wondering: what do you think your e36 is worth?

i could be interested in an e36........

oh wait, you said talk you out of it...
well, it's a 996, so aside from looking like a Cars movie, you'll only be able to watch your 996 C2 depreciate at an ungodly rate, while the 997s will hold their value much better.

I also couldn't bare to get any NB, since i would be sad whenever I saw the same gen WB..
