No way, that's gotta have a salvage title.

Dealers don't underprice cars by accident...

Inquiring...

$25,000 claim in 2021 as per Carfax on Open Road Acura

https://vhr.carfax.ca/?id=dq/jBv60rQ...eQvyPeSeGHjjD6

whitev70r 03-12-2023 07:47 PM

^ ah .. no wonder. A bit deceiving ... listed as clean title - 'no significant damage'.

donk. 03-12-2023 07:53 PM

Find dealer on google > reviews > leave a review that they post false information

Good to go

dark0821 03-12-2023 08:00 PM

I am sure the owner is either lucky or unlucky (depending on how you look at it) that he was leaseing the R... when that 25K hit happened....

I am going to save this ad and carfax and show my clients the benefits of a lease....lolol

SSM_DC5 03-12-2023 09:19 PM

^aware me.
Does the person who leased just pay the collision or comprehensive deductible and that's it? Dealership takes the depreciation?

EvoFire 03-12-2023 09:58 PM

The manufacturer/leasor eats the cost, dealerships have nothing to do with leases other than just selling them.

With BMW, BMW financial owns the car and together with the lease there's gaap insurance so if you write the car off and are upside down you are off the hook. When the car gets returned BMW finance owns the car. I've heard that the dealership that handles the return gets first dibs on the car, otherwise it goes to auction.

trollface 03-12-2023 10:06 PM

Called it lol. Good as salvage. That thing is over priced af.

CorneringArtist 03-13-2023 12:38 PM

Man all these used prices on 7.5s are making me happy I bought in 2020 before things went to hell and dealers were hurting for sales. Got a weird spec too; base model with the halogen headlights, no sunroof, but DSG and the Front Assist pack. ACC has been a lifesaver for runs to Seattle.

Unfortunately I'm dealing with a completely retarded hit and run that is gonna tank the resale, so I think I'm going to hold onto it.

trollface 03-13-2023 12:45 PM

I've never seen a 7.5 with a sunroof.

tofu1413 03-13-2023 12:48 PM

25k... probably headlights, bumper, hood, rad, ac core and perhaps airbag

sounds about right in this day and age.

I got a hit and run claim for my 750i for headlight, front bumper, some parking sensors and 1 wheel refinish + alignment. that was 18 grand itself.

trollface 03-13-2023 12:59 PM

Bro, it's a 7 series.

This is a bug.

tofu1413 03-13-2023 01:06 PM

20-25G Nowadays is common for fender bender for a few panels. thats my point.

trollface 03-13-2023 02:37 PM

But to put things into perspective, 20k on a 100k new 7 series is a lot different than 25k on a 47k car.

That Golf would have been totaled any other time. The only reason it wasn't is because of the inflated used car prices from Covid. That car should have been scrapped.

I'd say paying an extra 3-4k for a 40,000km milage one is a way better deal in this case. Good luck selling that thing with a claim that big.

blkgsr 03-13-2023 02:43 PM

why does everyone hate on sunroofs??

cause racecar?

trollface 03-13-2023 02:47 PM

We call em "Slick tops".

Weight and muh rigidity

The Producer 03-13-2023 02:47 PM

well - yes. more weight in the worst spot (up high), more maintenance, less rigidity, more prone to leakage etc.

but in this case especially the mk7's roof is known to crack the actual roof skin where it's bonded to it in some temperature conditions.

pretty sure no R's have them for some weird crash certification reason.

Suprarz666 03-13-2023 03:06 PM

The listing is tagged as sold already...

Great68 03-13-2023 03:36 PM

Mazda never built Speed 3's with a sunroof for that exact same reason.

I'm not a fan of sunroofs either. I owned two cars with sunroofs in the past, both were broken and/or leaked. Not worth it.

MK7 2016 Golf R - 55000KM 6MT - $35000 - Black on Black - 2 Small Claims

Sat for a while so maybe can talk a bit on price, could be a decent deal depending on how small those two claims were. Pretty low K @ 55K too.

whitev70r 03-13-2023 04:07 PM

^ This is a slightly better option, 2016 Golf R, DSG, NO accidents, 58K kms, $34K OBO. Unless you prefer 6MT.

https://vancouver.craigslist.org/nvn...596151287.html

Both of which are really not that worth the asking price.

The MS3 had a steel roof, steel hood, and steel trunk. I would buy the performance argument if they had put aluminum for all those pieces. The hood was straight up retarded.

MS3's have extra bracing in the roof that regular 3's don't have, and they'd be in the way of the sunroof:

For me, it's a point of leakage like everyone said, and more importantly, headroom.
