One of my friends lost his track built FK8 in December. Red light runner. He ended up having to settle for a 11th Gen Civic Si due to lack of inventory and not wanting to pay way over MSRP.

It sucks. A FK8 on limp mode feels faster than that neutered junk.

However, exhaust sounds good and its more comfortable as a daily. Heated front and rear seats. Sound deadening. It's no BMW, but its better than the FK8 as a daily.

The irony is that I was talking to Badhobz about wanting to buy a comfortable daily.. like the 5er I had over the winter.

Yah needs to be the 1.7 or the V6... everything else kinda sucks

Pretty cool that it's a LHD example tho!

One of my preferred color combos for this car, but it looks like it has been in some accident and the match isn't quite right.

O herrow.

Yeah these are now 20k cars on average. Values seems to be creeping up.
Those saddle seats are pristine. The current owner / previous owner must have weighed barely 100lbs.

bcrdukes 03-27-2023 06:00 AM

I have only noticed SC430s creep up in price over the past decade and they hold strong no matter the mileage or condition. Whether they sell or not is a different story.

68style 03-27-2023 07:51 AM

They keep losing their wheels to IS300 fuckbois in the USA hahaha

BICBAWS ears qualify for seniors discount after driving Seattle concrete highways on the way to the ridge.

FK8 on stock tire is 77db at 75mph (alarm clock loud).
+ BICBAWS track tire probably at 80db (vacuum cleaner)
+ concrete road probably puts that road trip at like 83db or close to garbage disposal noise for hours on end.

tegra7 03-27-2023 08:00 AM

Why did topgear say the sc430 was the worst car back in the early 2000s

trollface 03-27-2023 08:28 AM

I'm going to get guess it's because of the fact it's a Lexus. You put any Luxus sports car except the LFA next to its competitors, it's always the softer, less crazy one in the pack.

Just look at the RCF and ISF. No one buys them because they're better driving than an M3. You're buying the Lexus because there is going to be less blunt force drama on your wallet when it comes to depreciation, maintenance, and easier to live with day to day.

Nvm, I read that wrong. But I'm guessing they're comparing the SC to other sports cars in the price bracket.

JDMDreams 03-27-2023 09:43 AM

I think people realized all the SC competitors are now junk, Slk only seats 2 and reliability issues, are you sure you want to deal with e93 problems? And the SL, omg SBC, hydraulic top and suspension lol. Only other hard top vert I can think of is g37 but then those are pretty rare, only v6 and buddy guys been ripping them. And the new LC, sl is only soft top.

Woah, better rock some ear plugs

68style 03-27-2023 09:58 AM

BIC_BAWS already deaf from hitting VTAK with JDM girls let alone cars

TopsyCrett 03-27-2023 10:01 AM

Speaking of competitors, would you guys rather have the Lexus SC, or a CLK350/500 as a 4 seater convertible? I favor the looks of the facelift CLK's, over the Lex.
I can't quite think of any other mid-2000's 4 seater verts that compare. Maybe a E46 330ci.

(Definitely priced higher since it's at Euro Pacific. Might be able to luck out & score one ~$10k cheaper private sale.)

No question the Merc is a nicer looking car, but like someone said above you buy the Lexus cuz it will never die or give you any trouble.

Tough choice, the 350 Merc's can be pretty good 2008+
