Not anymore - if you’re talking gated manual coupe anyways

That’s not the point tho. Limited production cars are always going to perform well.

That’s still bonkers for a golf r regardless of what the colour is…….now if it was purple

Not knocking your Golf R, I've been looking long and hard at them too. But an R8 isn't exactly high volume either.

Even an auto R8 will beat the pants off any OE Golf in every way except practicality, but you don't buy a collector (and if you're spending 80k on a golf, you're a collector) because it's practical.

A golf R is a better value but not at 80k it ain't.

edit: ugh.. I have the flu or something. I'm struggling to string words together.

Just a rare sighting of a car posted ... bit of a sleeper wagon, 2005 V70 T5, 158K kms, $10K ... not a good price but more of an interesting posting.

^ But it's not an R. I feel like for 10k you could get an R.

whitev70r 08-02-2023 07:41 AM

Agree ... I feel $7.5K might be the fair price for that car with that low mileage in today's inflated used market. But rarely does one of these T5's go on sale.

In YVR (unless you live in NS or Westwood Plateau area), this might be a better choice than an R, throw some snow tires on it and it's fine in the snow. Don't have to worry about the AWD system. If you want more hp ... tune/chip it.

Hondaracer 08-02-2023 08:27 AM

Lol you’re touching AMG GT prices with that Golf R

No one except the person behind the steering wheel cares that you’ve got yourself a golf R lol especially at those prices, that’s insane

68style 08-02-2023 08:34 AM

But you get to park at meets and tell everyone you have Irish Green only 1/6 in the country and then put your hands on your hips and wait for all the best looking ladies in a 10 block radius to drop to their knees in front of you.

Right?

I know 20ish yo kids who will sell their soul to the devil to buy one and be seen in one ... anyone willing to spend that much on that car is not thinking clearly.

I felt the same way when NSX's were 40k

whitev70r 08-02-2023 09:51 AM

^ you think the Integra Type R will get to like $70-80K range in 10 yrs?

JDMDreams 08-02-2023 09:51 AM

That lolvo is most likely JDM, the guy imports a whole bunch of cars and I think it's for the dealership across from pink pearl on Hastings.

What's a good price on that itr. :considered:
