Does anyone know if these are reliable? I've heard timing chain tensioners are something that requires attention. Has the Mercedes 5 speed auto, so I'm assuming it should be okay on that front. 1998 Jaguar XJ-R - $9,500 (Richmond) 1998 jaguar xjr supercharged condition: good cylinders: 8 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 142000 paint color: red title status: clean transmission: automatic type: sedan Red 1998 Jaguar supercharged XJR offered for sale This Jag runs well and is in good condition. It’s a Jaguar. Isn’t the answer no? I’m imagining that thing dumped on some triple gold Daytons 90’s style and I’m kinda liking it though. |
That's the opposite of a good deal. |
I joined some XJR Facebook groups because I was interested in one... these early ones definitely have more issues than later models... That said, even the later models, the groups are just constantly full of air suspension and electric fault posts. Like... CONSTANT... it's borderline hilarious to read what these people accept from their cars. The other funny thing I noticed is that almost everything is blamed on battery voltage? Got a CEL? Change your battery. ABS not working and dash is Christmas tree? Change your battery. Those cars are so frickin sensitive to literally any dips in battery voltage, it's like a constant battle every week just to make sure all your grounds are grounding etc. Crazy. But the XJR is the best of the bunch, so take that for what its worth I guess. I low-key still keep my eyes open for a nice 350 platform car. |
The early prefacelift ones had nikasil engine liner issues just like the v8 BMW. So get a later one. I drove a xjr back in the day it didn't feel like 400hp for some reason. I had a 540i at the time and it didn't feel much faster. :okay: |
What the feck is goin on with that gearshift?! Looks like you gotta round a whole darn nascar circle track to get into gear! https://images.craigslist.org/00T0T_...MM_600x450.jpg ...my god, and the number of buttons on the console. Are we trying to type an email over here?! |

https://vhr.carfax.ca/?id=wQ9MO9aBax...9m47D3DqJhfr2v I'm looking at this car fax, and in 2023, it was listed as AUCTION ANNOUNCED AS ACCIDENT REPAIR. Does that mean the car was sold at an auction with no disclosure on how big the accident was unrepaired? |
7K crash... 6 months later auctioned, most likely repaired privately Or was it crashed for that amount, then sat unrepaired then auctioned? In that case 7K for a Model Y isn't too severe. |
their selling price would usually dictate how bad/severe that accident was if hes selling that thing for like 30k, run for the hills. |

Pretty rare Edsel. Looks like to be a complete car. Would be neat to get it in running order and leave the body as is. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...ibextid=6ojiHh |

Man lived without gran turismo and it explains so much. |

Ppl use Edsels for trim/bumpers/lights/grills etc for custom hotrods. No one really restores them. |
That speedo is cool as hell. |
