Not sure if its a good deal, but I don't recall ever seeing these in the classifieds. Lambo V10 for $22k.

JDMDreams 02-11-2024 05:59 PM

I would love one but every single thing is engine out

I saw that ad too. Didn’t even know they existed. But the more I read about them the less I was excited.

Manic! 02-11-2024 07:45 PM

Everyone including Doug DeMuro claims it's the Lambo engine. But it's not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_S6

Quote:

The engine in the C6 S6 is an Odd firing all-aluminium alloy 5,204 cubic centimetres (317.6 cu in) Fuel Stratified Injection (FSI) 40-valve (four valves per cylinder) 90° V10 (parts code: 07L, identification code: BXA). This engine is often referred to as a derivative of Lamborghini's 5.0-litre V10, but with longer stroke and wider bore to provide additional low end torque for use in the heavier sedan. The cylinder spacing is 90mm compared to 88mm for the Lamborghini engine. The V10 is based on the Audi 4.2-litre V8 engine. It produces 320 kW (435 PS; 429 bhp) at 6,800 rpm and 540 N⋅m (398 lbf⋅ft) of torque from 3,000 to 4,000 rpm. It uses twin chain-driven double overhead camshafts with variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust valves. The engine is managed by a Bosch Motronic MED 9.1 electronic engine control unit (ECU), which controls the mapped direct ignition, ten individual spark coils, common rail cylinder-direct sequential multi-point fuel injection, and drive-by-wire throttle.

I see with my little eye ... a Spektrum. Yes, there is a ~ $4000 Spektrum surtax.

Tesla also dropping the prices of new 3s and Ys like mad.

 :lawl: $38000 for 145000 kms :joy:

It looks like these were ~$100k new? Down to 22k in 75k km is painful.

That's the same car that was for sure going to sell for over 40k according to RS 7 months ago. It started at 46k lul.

68style 02-12-2024 08:42 AM

They should not be including that pic on the horribly offset oem wheels with missing centre caps. Looks so clapped.

Japanese imported car, C6 S6 was only in sedan form for the NA market

The Producer 02-12-2024 09:18 AM

Ya - Jamie dropped the ball on selling this car. He needed a big push to sell it in the fall south of the border. Americans aren't turned off by mileage the same way we are. Would be better off now waiting until spring.

No shortages any more, go buy a new R for MSRP or find the best Mk7.5 you can. Decide whether you want to pay a premium for a Spektrum or not. There's a twin car to mine in Montreal right now.

the 7.5 has been a great car - couldn't be happier with it. Just cracked 40k kms.

V10 Avant... :sweetjesus:

just reliability irks me anything related to the powertrain of that thing.

dark0821 02-12-2024 11:13 AM

and I assume everything will be an engine out service....

Even if you are a trained Audi Tech with your own lift... I assume it will be such a pita to work on lolol

Qmx323 02-12-2024 11:20 AM

I rmb test driving one at Lougheed Acura a few years back ... clutch feel/shifter didn't blow me away

That's the same one, oh my! Yah, I'd rather buy a low mileage R and wrap it that Spektrum purple

JDMDreams 02-12-2024 03:47 PM

I rather buy the s6 v10 and have $16000 for wrap and engine outs, and it has lower kms too.
