The older i get, the more i realize how stupid ferrari ownership is. Im glad i went through that bullshit already. For most owners, by the time you can afford one, you are already fat, bald and have erectile dysfunction. The only time that shit is cool is when you are in your 20's and 30's. By the time youre 40+, it just screams mid-life crisis
If it's only a 100gs, why don't you just beat on it, do mods to make it more street able. Assuming you can get it insured. I don't see it dropping below $100 as at the end of the day you have the badge. Can you manual swap a 458?
I remember there was a shop in Texas that does 458 manual swaps for 200k, it's not cheap.
yeah it's cuz you're just converting an SMG on these, not much electronics involved since a manual variant existed.
On a 458, you're likely swapping to a modified 430 gearbox, need to deal with losing the e-diff and an ECU that was never programmed to deal with a manual transmission.

Geriatric motor club unite!
When ya get one, should lend it over to me for a day. Let me live that dream
You guys should yell at FMOV. Those fuck heads wouldn’t sell me one back in 2019 when I got rid of the mazzy. Otherwise this ratrolla was suppose to be a yellow Roma with a tan interior and enough options to make the sales guy cream his pants.
I am not in the correct financial position, but I would say this is a solid buy in this market.

And I will say as long as you don't crash it, even daily this thing, It will always command $50,000 to $60,000 even if it was high milage, so you are getting in at 109... getting out at 60 maybe after 10 years and 100,000KM
This would be my forever car tbh, but god where am I gonna find $150K...

We'll have to come back there with the RS beatdown crew

Wow, I've been following the R8's and this is actually a steal. The last few posted were $95 - 110K @ 70 - 200,000KM. Wish I was in a position to buy this, don't think we'll see any pricing close to this for the rest of our lives lol.
My friend pays $3,300/year for his V8 R8 under business use.
My brother has a v8 R8 I’ve driven a handful of times and yea they’re nice but man I don’t know about paying that much more over 100k for one. If I’m looking to buy a car for a weekend toy I could think of a ton of options that would satisfy anyone for much less.
For that much money they are very meh and awd holds them back compared to other cars for half the money (not to mention they aren’t “fast” by today’s standards)…..unless you are buying for instalikes and bros asking what you do for work at the pump….not that there’s anything wrong with that

Perhaps I'm too cheap, but I couldn't sit on a highway doing basically the same speed as everyone else just ticking off a $5er every 40 seconds or so.
I'd pay that price at the Nurburgring or Spa or maybe a car from Frankfurt airport etc., but with all the cops that are out on the Sea to sky... you're going to have to get up past Pemberton to have any fun and that loop will cost you $3500 ish if you go all the way around.
you're right in that for a supercar, you probably would like to take it to the track, no speed limit to get THE full experience. Even off country roads in Pemberton area, there is a bit of 'risk' involved.
In the 416, you can rent supercars and push it on a track.

I'd never buy an Auto one, it's maybe 4-6/10 on the fun meter. If I had to keep it forever and never sell, I'd rather have a S2000. Never driven the manual one but I expect it to add 1-2 more points on the fun meter.
However, as a daily driver, it's pretty good for the $ in terms of reliability, depreciation and running costs. It's pretty much a show car if I ever picked one up. Buy for the looks and not the fun meter.
You will never buy the R8 for speed, it was never a speed per dollar vehicle.
You buy it for the "cling cling cling" gated manual sound as you slide thru the gears. Being German, the sound it made during gear changes was actually engineered...

Audi's engineers, in typical German fashion, made theirs the best-working gated shifter in history. They rethought the concept to be slick and nearly friction-free, with none of the flaws. Unlike in Italian cars, the lever didn't touch the gate you saw. It just appeared to, instead using a hidden, lower gate as a wear point, to keep the upper one pretty. Even the clack of the lever snapping into the lower gate had been optimized, just loud enough to be heard over exhaust and road noise.
