Here's another Boxster sub 20K

2003 - 145K - Black/Black - seemingly very well kept - asking - $18,500.

I've been looking to scratch the convertible itch, I haven't had a convertible in the fleet for a few years. I'm not shy of a risky bet so on January 28 I messaged the guy in North Van with the silver Boxster to check the car out. He read my FB message and ignored it. Yesterday he messaged back telling me "he'd had lots of interest, would be setting up a time for everyone to come look at the car, there will be a bidding war for it, and it would be bid up well beyond his asking price." Needless to say, I have zero interest in partaking in his bidding war.

Tonight I went and picked up this one. It was the one you want, old guy owned, well sorted with a binder full of service records from Juan's in Richmond.

Nice pickup! My itch for a sports car has picked up this year and my "eff you" money looks like it's going to be a 2025 thing so I've been debating picking up something for $15-30k to play with in the meantime like a ND. Hadn't considered picking up an older Boxster like this though - that's a friendly price that my wife could tolerate.

I'm still very happy with my Boxster as it has been very reliable, save for any projects that I initiated myself. They can be very rewarding to own and lots of fun to drive. I was lucky to pick mine up before they started to climb into the high $10s and $20s of thousands. As they say, buy the buyer. Good examples exist out there. :)

Your Boxster is sitting undriven! Come back and drive it... or lend it to us :)

good year. by this point the base boxster is almost as potent as the original boxster S. still a 5 speed, but that really doesn't hurt it.

I'd prob look for an 03 if i was in the market

EDIT: this dealer keeps popping up in my searches this week. who are they? eclectic inventory for sure

nah, the Sentra i wanted but never gotten was the SE. not the SE-R.

The SE had the SR20DE... basically the SR20DET minus the T for turbo.

The SE-R was and always will be, unobtanium for me. Plus the one above was the ugly generation one. The good looking SE-R is this one below

The 2nd gen one has graduated into the "This person either stumbled into this car by luck or has decent classical minded tastes" category.

On that note, I'm always disappointed when people drive special cars and don't even realize it. I was basic bitching it up on Alberni St downtown the other night and a yellow 03/04 Z06 Corvette cruised by me with the windows down and I said "Beautiful Z06" and the driver looked at me all confused like I had 5 eyes or something.

These blow up, a lot. The QV25 is known problem.

Badhobz 02-20-2024 12:17 PM

oh for sure. like most nissan products of the 2000's these were absolute dog shit.

The last good Nissan ever made (excluding the GTR) was the built in Japan Pathfinder Chilkoot edition and the 20th anniversary maxima

Was it a woman?

The corvette club is full of older deeeecent looking milfs driving anything from c4's to c8's.

Not sure if good buy, but the interior looks surprisingly shit for a Lexus and they lowered the price by $8000 already.

I'd put it $10k too expensive still - this base trim gives econobox vibes with its dark interior (no sunroof) and small wheels.

At this price it should be one trim above with the larger wheels and sunroof.

EvoFire 02-21-2024 01:12 PM

Basically a tarted up Bz4x, not worth the $60k

hud 91gt 02-21-2024 03:42 PM

S52 Candidate. Far from a good deal unless you were swapping anyway. Lol

JDMDreams 02-21-2024 07:32 PM

Are e30s worth it? Chassis seems so old that it will handle like a wet noodle? You can have 2-3 e36 e46s e90 for the price. 40 year old German plastics and rubbers makes me shiver

The Producer 02-21-2024 09:34 PM

i think you ask this question every few months

you've got to be into this age of cars. if you're not feeling the nostalgia, the car experience on it's own is probably not going to change your mind

what do you drive anyways? post your fleet. i don't think i've ever seen it. i'm interested in seeing how 80's german cars compare to what you've got.

the E30 looks clean but that's too much $ for a roller unless it's perfect, and you're ready to reshell a car that would otherwise cost more to restore
