^ That isn't a good deal. One simple way to tell is he wants an extra $700 for the aftermarket wheels/tires. haha. I think the wheels are about $600 new.

Huge difference is the one i posted is a ZHP (more horsepower, firmer suspension and comes with 6th gear). Theres actually an enthusiast group specific towards ZHP and are definitely sought after in the e46 community after clean m3s.

6th gear is not unique to ZHP all 330i after 2003 got it. my only point is its a high premium for suspension tuning, shorter final drive and 10hp. i would rather have a much lower mileage 330i sport package for less money

After the bloody TAX, you might not make much by going through the hassle selling a convertible in winter.

That GS400 ad has red flags all over it for me. Sounds like an owner who is getting rid of a problem.

Not true.
First thing a potential buyer needs to ask the seller is when were the valves retainers replaced and if it was with AP1 or AP2 parts.
AP1 Retainers cracking - what to look for - S2KI Honda S2000 Forums

Then to go for a test drive and take it on a highway to get over 100 km/h and see if there is any vibrations from the rear axles.
Ask the owner when the CV cups were replaced,
power-on vibration from the rear.... bad CV joint? - S2000 Forums
Some people cheap out and swap the left side with the right side which is only a temporary fix.

Also, in the pics, you can see the car has an 02/03/AP2 soft top with the glass rear window. Check to see how new the top is. It is quite common for the tops to stretch or wear out and develop leaks.

Well, a PPI is always prefered when you are buying a used vehicle. AP2 valve retainer is a preventative maintenance, if it has been done, perfect. If not, then I will do it.

As I mean nothing for Honda, I mean nothing like IMS, RMS, Rod Bearing, etc will happen one day. Opps, you are out of 15k+ for a new engine. Ask me how I know having those sleepless nights worrying about next day my car won't start and drill a deep hole on my wallet....:okay:

Same thing. I learned the hard way about the valve retainers. I got lucky and only had 12 bent valves out of 16 but none of the retainers broke where the valve dropped into the motor which would mean you would need to replace the motor. Unfortunately, I replaced it with AP1 parts and had to spend the money a second time or risk driving with a ticking time bomb engine. Oh yeah, replacing valve retainers means taking the head off and if the head comes off, you are replacing the head gasket and getting the head machined so it isn't quite cheap and it really isn't preventative maintenance.
With time, AP1 retainers will fail, just like your porsche examples.

Same thing goes for the CV cups.

After everything is said and done, the $11,500 S2000 is becoming a money pit.
