Usual carbon build up and oil consumption but relatively fine. Its the same motor used in the B7 RS4's which are surprisingly reliable (No timing chain issues).

Gated also means one less headache with the old ass r tronic pumps going bad.

What about s5? I've been tempted by a big coupe, 650, cl c215/ 216 seems too much with their sbc and abc

Alberta car only matters for cars that can be driven in the winter.

Anything special or rwd or exotic is highly likely to be totally fine... and low mileage lol

JDMDreams 04-01-2024 09:19 AM

I don't think people care, most car guys auto decline or -$5000 instantly due to it being Alberta or East Coast car. I wonder how will taxes work though would there be any savings cuz Alberta

SSM_DC5 04-01-2024 09:57 AM

+1 for auto decline or expect a deep discount. Last time I went to see a car that was previously in the Prairies, seller tells me that they take very good care of it and mechanic just saw it and says it has a rust free under carriage. Thing was completely covered in rust underneath. Surface rust, maybe, but all the other BC only cars were all far cleaner.

Badhobz 04-01-2024 10:38 AM

ive read somewhere that the RC-F and GS-F has tune-ability as they've cracked the ECU *unlike the LC which ECU is still locked*.

So you can push 500hp quite easily with an intake and exhaust. for 40ish something to get a 500hp+ RWD lexus aint too shabby as long as its not rusty underneath.

68style 04-01-2024 03:36 PM

Like I said if it gets driven in winter at all, auto fail and it's easy to tell.

You crazy if you think any significant vehicles like a GT3 or any 911 for that matter, etc is affected by summertime anywhere or gets a discount becaues it's in YYC instead of YVR. Even this RC-F probably hasn't seen even a frosty day.

Summer weather is summer weather, BC doesn't have magic air.

trollface 04-01-2024 06:52 PM

BC air is much more smug.

Badhobz 04-01-2024 07:52 PM

One thing I recall from growing up in Edmonton was that they don’t use salt. It was all sand. Not saying that won’t do damage to the car but it’s not as bad as say Montreal cars which are automatically rusty within 3 winters.

I also don’t ever recall see anything sports cars in the wintertime.

westopher 04-01-2024 08:21 PM

Edmonton uses sand and brine now. Sand chips your car and brine gets in the chips. I've seen 6 year old cars with the floors about to fall out.

https://www.brianjesselbmwpreowned.c...ale_class=used

2014 M6

52,000KM

Local full service history always at the BMW Store (the guy even had windshield wipers replaced at the dealer)
Spark plugs everything already done, looks to be well maintained.

2 claims
1 for $184 on driver side
1 for $1,100 on driver rear

Higher trim too with competition wheels and B&O Speakers (base M6 came with Harmon Kardon)

Only $38,900

Honestly I think its a great buy... I would if I wasn't straddled with kids and mortgage.

Those are a question of when and not if you need a new engine and turbos. They cook themselves.

dark0821 04-07-2024 03:18 PM

Really? I was always looking for a F10 M5, didn't see any horror stories, but then again I guess I didnt dig deep enough~

Badhobz 04-07-2024 03:58 PM

So what ?! Let it cook itself and then throw in an LS moooootttteerrrrr.

trollface 04-07-2024 06:08 PM

The fact that it's perfect, low KM and only worth 38k tells you all you need to know about these cars.
