Some people are just clean in general or neat freaks... other people take pride in anything they own no matter what it is. A car is a big purchase, likely the 2nd biggest one anyone makes in their lifetime... so even a shitty one by enthusiast standards is a big deal to some people!

im always super motivated to detail my car after seeing a really clean car or watching detailgeek on youtube, then life gets in the way.

I'm pretty confident it's my old car since I installed front PPF on mine there were only 3 registered with ICBC for MY2017. I have no hard numbers but there should be fewer than 100 brought to Canada in total over the 5 model years.
