^Looks like it's sold now, so no need to risk angering your wife :) |
In cases like that, asking for forgiveness > permission. |

i was reading that and thought you were gonna say his name is julian, he works with ricky and bubbles :lol |
Bendpak is hobby grade junk, they are good at advertising and giving lifts to youtubers. The one on marketplace is datestamped 2011, a sub $2000 lift back then. |
So Bendpak is equivalent to harbor freight/princess auto? |
What would you recommend for a home hobbyist with a low garage roof? |
Quickjack maybe? I used one at a friends and it was nice. Much easier to work on stuff under the car with it compared to jack stands. |

This would make oil changes and suspension adjustments really easy. I have a very small space in my low ceiling garage, so imagine contorting your body in ways unimaginable to jack the car up on jack stands. |

I think some of you might be looking, Park Shore has a good deal on a well optioned used X5 45e right now https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...7934035967636/ https://www.parkshorebmw.com/used/20...d10972316.html Their carfax thing doesn't seem to work. I would think at this price there's a good chance there's some accident history. I would be in on this if I haven't bought mine already as this is the "right amount" of luxury for me. |
^ yah yah yah. No crystal shifter that’s why you’re like nahhh no thanks. |

I passed on the car even though it's very close to how I'd spec a 45e. I don't keep my cars for long and that dec will affect resale when it comes time to sell. I think the price is fair given comparables on the market, and the type / dollar amount of damage won't matter as much to someone if they plan to keep the car long term. |

It's pretty much exactly how I would spec the car as well minus the laser lights. I really don't care for them as the basic LEDs are pretty damn good already. For some one who plans to drive it for the next 5 to 7 years, it's a good buy as some one else has already taken a 35k depreciation hit for you and you only pay 5% taxes on it |

- it was brand new in box, and the two of us took about 1.5 hours to set it up - they're not light. while they have wheels, it's unidirectional for moving from storage to car, not for sliding sideways while it sits on the ground. sliding it under each side of the car is a little annoying. apparently people add casters to improve this - once it's up, the car has good height, and for me, it was nearly enough height to crawl on all fours. (we didn't have a creeper) - after having worked on a car on 4 jackstands, the QJ made me feel a lot safer. i gave my car an "oh shit" shake before going under the car on the QJ and it was fairly stable. - the oil hoses provided, or rather, the quick connects, seem pretty good quality. upon disconnect, there's nearly no oil that leaked. https://i.imgur.com/uAxo8GX.jpeg |
Depending on your garage height you can just build wooden ramps, and leave the quick Jack there all the time. Just drive over the wood, and Jack + I guess you can make wheel stoppers so you know how far in to park the car. |

If they could design it so the front contact point is behind the furthest forward part of the front part of the jack on the ground, it'll feel safer, or provide bolt on feet to extend the contact patch forward. |

I wish my garage were as big as the one in your photo. I live in a townhouse complex and it's able to fit an SUV but anything wider is impossible. Space is a real premium so anything to make my life easier to perform maintenance on my car is welcomed. I did the math and figured I can break even on the amortization over a handful of oil changes and any track day setup I need to do compared to bringing it to the shop. |

Seems like a decent price point, haven't see one this low. Relatively low kms at 58K kms for a 9 yr car, 2016 Golf R, $25K. Witty seller. I think I've seen some straightforward upgrade on the Entertainment Centre to the MK 7.5. Should be able to keep up with 2024 black GTI's. :lawl: https://www.facebook.com/share/Uop5KnN5hwJBFdzq/ https://scontent.fcxh3-1.fna.fbcdn.n...yA&oe=669648DA |
