Yea the things about Tesla is that they are so common just like Apple, so there's so much aftermarket support for them. So if something goes wrong you're probably not the only one, and there's a fix. Isn't Kia Hyundai still super backordered on engines, and the palisade and telluride are starting to blow their motors.:lawl:

If this thing has 100kms and not miles, thats alot of power for 30k. If you could get it down to 25k, that would be a mega deal.

Too bad they never came in manučl, ive always wanted one. Power hardtop.

Minus the rust, those seats are baller, and low kms.

Parts for those XLR-Vs are hard to come by or not available, so the repair journey can be an endeavour if something under the hood needs replacing..

That XLR seems kind of ratty.

They are massive headaches, I believe it has a Northstar in it instead of a small block? Those tail lights are well known to go back and there are no replacement parts. People have been cobbling together bits to get working tail lights.

JDMDreams 09-07-2024 09:41 AM

Yea car wizard had one and it was bad. The tail lights are discontinued and the boards go bad inside the LED taillights. But then that is the one to get cuz it's a v, supercharged

Hyunda/Kia engines gonna Hyundai/Kia

Ppl should really just go straight to the EV9; demand is really soft on them.

Discounts should start in a 6-12 months

I just test drove the EV9 at the Everything Electric show yesterday. The dealer rep says they get 2-3 units per month and still has a 6-12 month waitlist. I gathered from the conversation that their store is still marking them up.

AstulzerRZD 09-09-2024 11:01 AM

Great intel, thx!
What did you think of the size / drive / overall package?

I expect they will start sending some more to Canada since US stores are giving 10k-ish USD markdowns - just give it a few months

I like the EV9 - it truly is a supersized version of my former Soul EV except with way more power and all-wheel drive. Acceleration is solid but not violent, the ride was mostly soft with a touch of firmness, and the interior was quiet and as compliant as mainstream brands get. The car seems like good value compared to other new EVs in the $60-80k range, but it's debatable if it's worth the price premium over a Telluride or another ICE equivalent.

It'll be nice if KIA sends more units up here so dealers can stop marking them up - I'm still jaded from my sleazy KIA dealership experience (sales manager tried to claim MSRP as their cost to justify their markup on delivery day).

JDMDreams 09-09-2024 02:20 PM

Koreans gonna Korea, I want to give them a chance but they always seem to find a way to cut corner and fuck you over with their cars.

WAs looking at pricing on the Volvo EX90 - 90k USD is insane.
That's more than an R1S, which lease in the mid 500s
