He has a restraining order for schools, why do you think he picked up a camera with a telephoto lens.

Those earlier 460's have some pretty serious suspension issues and also some weird thing if I remember correctly with the infotainment system that bricks itself.

Badhobz 02-23-2025 09:36 AM

Suspension fine, so just put regular coils on it. Infotainment I don’t know but as long as those back seats extend it’s plusher than my royal lounge alphard while having a significantly better engine

JDMDreams 02-23-2025 10:11 AM

The engine does have some big gotchas, direct injection, valley pan coolant leak, brake actuator and suspension, arms etc. That single seat is nicer, however you have more physical space still in the Alphard for activities :ifyouknow:

trollface 02-23-2025 11:46 AM

That thing is 17k for a reason lol

The HDD on the early 460's fail and basically bricks the infotainment system. You lose the reverse camera, radio/CD tuner (though you could still technically "tune it"), and some climate control functionality. There are some services that allow you to get a refurb HDD, but OEM replacement drives pre-loaded with the Lexus software is a couple grand minimum. The drives also have some type of software lock, so you can't *just* clone it yourself.

JDMDreams 02-23-2025 10:19 PM

^^ JDM ones are dirt cheap, I guess you can't really just throw in a usdm head unit and get it running? It would fix the issue where the whole audio/ climate is in Japanese, but then you would still have the Japanese cluster.

Badhobz 02-24-2025 06:31 AM

i talked to my service advisor at lexus, he told me that little fold out table was 12k

https://parts.lexus.com/p/Lexus__LS-...A050070B3.html

you better be very very careful doing coke off that table. make sure the bitches who ride you in the back arent putting any weight on that table, or else its basically 90% of the car's value gone.

JDMDreams 02-24-2025 07:29 AM

Meanwhile you can get two wireless headphones for $95, and I thought those would be expensive

AstulzerRZD 02-24-2025 10:59 AM

hobz how are the convertibles?

low key if im gonna b obnoxious and have a great exhaust i might as well go all the way

Badhobz 02-24-2025 11:03 AM

powertrain wise i think they are about the same. the good thing about the GT is they actually seat 4 people decently comfortable. Even in coupe form, so the convertible is just as good space wise (same platform as the Quattroporte 5)

Id be concerned about the power soft top though.... italian + a lot of moving parts = $$$$

https://youtu.be/9BGkrmSFegw?si=KSqav-jrFKLVVUEu

Sound wise it’s just unbeatable. Best v8 sound in the world.

Qmx323 02-24-2025 11:40 AM

Damn, sold, was gonna take a look at it tonight

The E93/F33/83 tops are known to be finicky. Get into an accident and it'll never ever line up again. Also it's know to stop moving if it's even a little out of place. Unless you are Facetroll who likes working on this shit. (It was Trollface that works on the Z4s right?)

68style 02-24-2025 02:30 PM

Yah he enjoys working on Z4s while his friend pisses on trampolines or something like that

JDMDreams 02-24-2025 03:17 PM

Is that a decent price for a maz? There's a Richmond dealer one for $29000. The prices are all over the place

Got another cool sedan for you then, tho I suppose it belongs in interesting buys since it's not really a good buy just ultra rare nowadays for not too crackhead of a price.

For 12.5K, you can buy a 2005 C55 AMG with just under 200K km.

Weird, speedo in Miles but Odo in KM

JDMDreams 02-24-2025 07:08 PM

I think from that gen you can change display units from the menus

no its not! if its been in an accident, run the fuck away. These things are insanely expensive to get parts for. Thats why if you ever see one for too cheap, you know its been in some big $$$ repairs.

For the granturimso

2008-2011 (2011 is the last of the OG pinnin designed front end, with the 4.2L v8) = 30-40k for a well sorted one. Ideally with records from ferrari maserati vancouver. Careful of variators, thats a 10k job right there. Low mileage ones especially. Same goes with Quattroporte 5's with the 4.2L v8

2012-2017 = 45ish-60k for a well sorted one. These ones no longer have the variator issues and is probably the best ones to get if all you care about is reliability of the powertrain. Also the 4.7L v8 has a bit more torque without sacrificing most of the high end sound/rpm of the 4.2L.
OG maserati snobs like me still enjoy the 4.2L due to the tad bit higher RPM redline and the slightly higher pitch snarl at redline.

2018-2019 = final year of the beautiful GT. The ones with the new infotainment, backup camera, and modern amenities. If you can find one, they will be around 70k+. Which isnt that bad for a car that was almost 200k out the door from the dealership. Just be ready to take a depreciation bath for another 20-40k throughout your ownership. If youre okay with that, then drive it into the ground and with a good 3rd party mechanic you'll have a budget 458/430 for 30-70k that technically sounds better and is more reliable to boot.

-------------

If youre a retard and you like pain, try and find the MC shift one (the f1 transmission) that one has the dry sump lubrication and slightly better weight balance of 47/53(rear) and is setup exactly like a f430 with the same transmission/engine. Everything in the powertrain (besides the flatplane crank) is lifted from that f430. Only downside is that you need a new clutch every 50,000km and they are 5-8k per. Why would you want this lousy shifting semi manual? I DONT KNOW, i guess youre retarded. Ive seen people online take a 4.2L GT and throw in the old 6 speed manual from the Maserati Grand Sport Coupe (2004-2007)

But you could probably manual swap the MC shift the way you can an F1 transmission?
