The M2 though.... I assume that will be your forever car..... if you buy it.... you aint selling it...

I've been going back and forth on trading the Type R for the M2 to get back into a M car, with everyone not talking me out of one.

But I think that right there, is a great reason not to do it haha. I wouldn't want that M2 to be forever car, esp not Long Beach Blue :heckno:

WTF BRO, STOP LOOKING AT CARS!!!!

YOU DRIVE THAT RED FK8 TO DEATH okay?

68style 03-09-2025 04:26 PM

Doooo itttttt

Power is better when it’s received as a push from behind, not dragging you along for the ride

Jason00S2000 03-09-2025 04:30 PM

It is soooooooo much more fun driving a slow car fast, than a fast car slow...

It's much less fun because you hit insanely illegal speeds too quickly and you can't even push the car to its limits on street tires.

Where as if you drive a slow, old manual car fast, you've really got to be good to squeeze out 10/10 and you might only be a bit above the speed limit. Floor it for 5 seconds in a PLAID and you're at 200+ kph and in much more danger compared to keeping your food in it in an Integra and then having to know how to maintain that momentum through every mountain curve...

BIC_BAWS 03-09-2025 06:52 PM

lmfao just speed then or go to the track. Unless you're too much of a pussy to show up at the track and you'd rather be touting your slow car fun bullshit

Mashing the pedal to go 60KM an hour in an insanely long 3rd gear is not fun no matter how you spin it.

Keep coping buddy

BIC_BAWS 03-09-2025 07:07 PM

is it fast cause you're on speed?

How is the fk to daily? The exhaust doesn't sound particularly exciting and I still don't like the looks but pricing is finally coming back down

I thought the Type R was supposed to be the forever car.

Fantastic! I've been dailying up until recently (WFH) for 30km (round trip) commutes since 2021.
  • Power. Auto revmatch is fantastic btw and unlike other Hondas, you can put this thing in 1st and it'll roll itself for quite a while. I think it has an anti-stall feature. Downside is that revmatching yourself is not as satisfying as past Hondas. For 3 years, I used autorev match instead of doing it myself. Ironically, now I only turn it on for track but keep it off on the street. When auto revmatch is on, there is a lot more revhang and delay in throttle response.
  • Reliable. It's so reliable/boring I'm dreaming of another BMW. The only thing I've replaced due to age is the door sensor - $5 part, one 10mm.
  • Good on gas. Stock is 475-510/tank on a 42L tank.
  • Carry literally everything and anything you want. How do people regularly bring wheels and tires (if separated) to get mounted? Two trips?
  • For the most part, it's pretty comfortable too. Adaptive suspension is a blessing, but mines on the way out so there isn't a drastic difference between all the modes anymore. That said, replacement shocks are EXPENSIVE. OEM only. Coilovers will have to be the budget play when that time comes.

If you get one, don't get an intake - keep that stock. If you want some woosh noise, put in a K&N drop in filter. A light "stage 1" or "stage 0.5" tune does wonders for the car (+42HP; +72FTLBS) and you only lose 40km of range.

Re: Exhaust, it lowkey kind of drones even with stock exhaust, but don't put on a catback.. you can ask hobz about his experience lol. Earplugs required with cheap catbacks. That said, stock exhaust + downpipe sounds pretty good.

If you test drive one, make sure it's on stock wheels and on a nice day. Anything other than, will be an incorrect assessment of the car. The engineers did some crazy magic that the car is fabulous out of the box - in stock config. Or shoot me a PM after April and we can do a S2S run or smt. Honestly, the biggest downside to the car is how good it is. It makes it hard to justify getting anything else cause the performance limit is quite high. It's a very no drama car tho, it has no soul, it just works.

Toying with the idea of trading into something else.. so long as I'm not spending more money right? But dark had a point, I wouldn't want the M2 as the forever car.

I think we just need to all admit it to ourselves.. there is no such thing as a forever car if you're under 75.

westopher 03-10-2025 08:21 AM

Wrong. E36forevercar.
It's not the e36s fault bic bought the wrong one or he'd be car payment free right now.

AstulzerRZD 03-10-2025 08:38 AM

FK8 can take bic baws to uncle status even with kids and stroller

Meanwhile I am looking a 3 Dr JCW and 986/987 because I miss driving that much

E36 M3 best car. I didn't sell it cause it was a POS (hell that was a great perk lol). I sold it cause I was terrified of driving it #SkillIssue haha. On my commute to work, it would kick out on bridges that have turns in them, then on my exit, if I wasn't careful I've accidently slid the entire exit onto Bridgeport whoops LOL

I wanted something a little less... likely to kill me.

That can be arranged. I'm not telling you when it will happen though. Oh and since you didn't specify "me" as in the car or your physical self....... It'll remain a mystery to you which "me" it is.
