Came across this on CL, how does this one look guys? Too bad I don't know how to drive a stick. It would interest me more if it's a 1.8 TDI stick though.

Considering I like to floor it a lot, makes sense in Vancouver to have a slower car.
If you lived in Texas or some American city with huge highways. sparse populations and flat roads to enjoy, get a turbocharged highway monster!
In Vancouver you're lucky to hit a steady fucking 40 KPH on Kingsway even in non-rush hour! Big power is practically useless!
My E36 5.0 pretty much falls on its face after the top of 2nd gear but around town that's perfect! Torque to haul ass between 0 and 100, especially the sweet spots in the city between like 20-80 KPH.
I bet a N/A 911 would be similar in fun to a 911 turbo, especially if you knew how to drive. Not only that but you'd get 90% of the enjoyment at like 1/3rd the cost!

FWIW, it's not necessarily $1000, bidding starts at $1000. Quote:

Also, you can nickname it the 'White Rocket' | LOL! It's Grand National or bust for me. Although this makes for a great platform. The Buick T-type compared to a GN is like buying a GSR when you really wanted a Type R. Ha!

Haha come on you guys know it's not cool to drive an imposter-car... even if it's mechanically the same underneath... it's just not as cool.

Depending how the rust/body was dealt with, i'd love this for a daily run around.

These cars are pretty bullet proof. Mine is around 170 now, and I have had zero issues, asides from the ones I created for myself related to the crap I have done to the car.
Even with having to do some of the common maintenance items such as the valve covers, and a full fluid change, and spark plugs. You're talking less than 1000 bucks.
Tack on a little suspension work like shocks, and struts, and perhaps new hubs or bearings. Another $1000.
And you have a car which will easily drive for another 50k without hesitation for $7800.
