Its GOOD aircooled 911 money. NSXs are classics in their own right though. I'm not nearly as interested in them as a porsche, but the NSX is a very special car and will only hold its value or rise for the quality examples.

NSX SUPERCAR

Am I the only one that's bothered by the Falken 615 tires on the car? Seeing as he's keeping it stock for collector plates, that tire tread pattern just doesn't suit the car (regardless of how decent they may be).

Call me crazy... or anal, but I would at least have stuck with a Yokohama or Bridgestone tire. I know the original tire models are discontinued for the earlier NSX's, but you get where I'm coming from.

92's qualify under the 15 year/<1500 produced rule, not the 25 year rule.

A car with a 20k+ accident? I dunno if it really qualifies as a steal, even at that price. I'd want to see a textbook worth of receipts and photos for that repair. Must have been pretty early in its life though to not get a rebuilt title. That would be killer to flog around a track at that price without worrying too much about running ragged.

I'd treat that M3 like a rebuilt if i was a potential buyer, as in i'd take it somewhere a proper post-accident inspection could be done making sure the frame is straight, the car was repaired properly and no shortcuts were taken.

Im going to look at the m3 tomorrow evening. The owner told me the accident happened in late 2003. So when the car was only a year old it makes sense. I work with ICBC estimations and salvage parts so i know exactly how the process works and roughly guess how much the parts costed with ICBC's overpriced parts purchases.

For example, we had a 2012 last gen of e92 M3 from ICBC claim, purchase parts from us. Damage didn't seem bad but it needed a front bumper, PDC Sensors, rad support, rad, headlights, fender, hood, and it all added up to roughly 27g.

Also, a 2006 s2000 ICBC claim that needed a hood headlight bumper and misc parts from us.. I can get these parts easily used for 700dollars a pair for the headlights, hood for 200bucks and fenders for 150bucks ea/ on s2ki. Yet, we charged ICBC about 1500 for pair of headlights, 695 for hood, and 350 for bumper assembly. ICBC will pay anything as long its lower than what the parts cost out from a dealer and if its in mint 10/10 shape... basically any car that is rare, auto wreckers double the price or even triple the price on the parts because its hard to get

These high prices are what shows on the records. So honestly, im not too worried as long as the car has no structural damage. I will obviously get it inspected though at a bodyshop and a mechanical shop

In 3 years, the 25 year rule will apply to that NSX anyway.

And I'll be even older

This is also false.
A car with a 23g damage and a clean title vs a rebuilt title car is completely different. Rebuilts are cars that are purchased back from ICBC salvage by some greasy rebuilders in surrey. Most likely built with cheap parts and cost effective short cuts in mind. Wheareas, ICBC repairs are built top notch to meet factory standards with no expenses spared. Because its paid by the government

I think as long as the car gets thoroughly inspected, it's fine. And also hopefully it has all the receipts to back it up. My S2000 cost about 10k to repair from some relatively minor accident.

Actually in hindsight you're completely correct, but i think i'd still treat it as a rebuild in the sense of a full structural inspection.

For that price, I'd just enjoy it for a few seasons and get rid of it. That or turn it into a dedicated track car. A good find nonetheless. Should've waited for this instead of my Corolla. Fuck.

jpark - good luck and let us know how it goes!

At least its a special edition corolla. Besides you are supposed to hate M3s now like a bitter ex-boyfriend.
