1997 Toyota Supra

jing 03-19-2015 10:03 PM

Supra guy wanted 60k for it a few years ago IIRC

pingu81 03-19-2015 10:56 PM

^ A shock that it's not RHD. Very nice car. Unfortunately there's no demand out there right now to justify that price.

Mr.Money 03-19-2015 11:34 PM

what would be a fair offer?,you would be able to get a skyline with mileage pretty close

nsx042003 03-19-2015 11:48 PM

More like...I don't have enough money to buy.

legit 1000hp?

320icar 03-20-2015 12:56 AM

I believe it did make about 1000 hp, flywheel tho

thumper 03-20-2015 05:01 AM

is it the same seller? i remember an ad for this car months ago but the pictures were of the car under an overpass in richmond

AudiFreak 03-20-2015 05:42 AM

Maybe he finally decided to take new pictures. Those older pictures were from years ago when he completed his build. His price has gone anywhere from 50 to 75k.

heleu 03-20-2015 07:05 AM

Wow, that Supra was my dream car...in High school.
Price isn't that bad, but yeah, only a very small group of buyers would pay that.
I think the local injection of RHD Supras has lowered the value somewhat. He probably will have better luck in the states where his price is about $45K USD.

That's pretty easy to remedy, isn't it? :troll:

I like the Black MKIV TT Supra. Unfortunately it has been for sale for a long time. The owner continues to fluxuate the price according to the US-CAN dollar. I've seen it as low as $55k & as high as $90k. It's an awesome car LHD, built internals, TRD widebody body kit, Volk TE37s. Not a daily driver car but for someone with excess capital they could likely add it to their collection of cars.

death_blossom 03-20-2015 02:08 PM

not my car, but it could be a pretty good deal for the right party as it's got a 20v swap.

Sounds like a pretty good deal if everything checks out, only concern is it doesn't look like the RMS and IMS bearings have been done yet so it could be a ticking time bomb.

*Edit* owner said the car has 170K km's. Very tempting.

westopher 03-20-2015 02:39 PM

I could be VERY wrong, but I believe the longer an IMS bearing has survived milage wise, the less likely it is to do damage. Its much more common on low milage cars that have spent a lot of time sitting. Looks like a rad deal.

That's what others have told me and off all the 996's, the 99's is the lightest with the least amount of computer aids.
It is kinda tempting as I am getting bored of my QX and my CRX may not be as fun as I was hoping it would be.
For $16K, it is a steal but I'd have to upgrade the headlights. Can't stand those Boxster looking headlights.

SumAznGuy 03-20-2015 02:46 PM

Early Rustang's are not worth that much money and in this case, it still needs TLC, non matching numbers with after market parts and I am guessing it doesn't quality for collectors.

westopher 03-20-2015 02:47 PM

You can't see the headlights from the drivers seat.:toot: I'd buy it and enjoy it with a small drop and some sticky tires.
