Spoiler!

Since the title is clean it would be worth it if you could get it low enough and then pick up one of those damaged ones posted earlier (again for low enough). Swap over the lower k suspension and driveline and keep the old stuff as spares, then part out the rest of the wrecked one.

But the problem is still the price, at asking price you'll be near $50k for the two cars before you even get into them, and for $50k CDN I can hop on NSX Prime and pick up a clean 91 any day of the week by the looks of it. So then it's only worth it for someone who wants to have an NSX right now but also have a spare motor to build for later use.

Can't blame the guy for changing his mind on price, but it doesn't make him look good either

bomiheko 04-11-2015 01:27 AM

Is that S2000 still worth it?

cdizzle_996 04-11-2015 04:19 AM

Wasn't worth it at $24,500

flagella 04-11-2015 06:03 AM

Nope. The s2k owners have been trying pretty hard to take advantage of the high demand coupled with lack of supply here, but just failing to realize premium apply to only a few very mint and stock ones. At some price point, which most have exceeded, the potential buyers will start looking elsewhere.

Just flag his ad to high hell. He'll get the message. But yeah, Craigslist is the last place I would ever expect sellers to be honest or have integrity.

You can't expect shenanigans not to occur on a FREE online classifieds site. One of the downfalls to CL aside from spammers, flakes, noobs

320icar 04-11-2015 10:50 PM

Sigh. This thread sometimes. I'm happy with my current car. But can't help think to myself "damn. What could a 30k trade in get me for a dream car" lol. The girlfriend would kill me doe

I just bought an E90 yesterday and, yes, that's literally what the manual says. I was surprised, too.

That said, from what I read on BMW forums prior to purchase, a lot of owners feel that's too long and advise to change every 10000 miles (16000 km).

flagella 04-12-2015 06:53 AM

Not too confident with reliability of g35 sedan around those years. Friend had one and it gave tons of problems.

Don't forget that BMW also stated that many of their other fluids/components are also lifetime (tranny/different fluid, fuel filter etc.)
