maybe that custom engraved plaque on the supercharger that said "COMTECH" was a bad sign after all :o

Holding onto a car as an "investment" is a terrible way to try and make money. The value might appreciate but the return rate isn't going to be very good vs the other things you could invest in with that money.

tell that to those who bought 993 and 996's in 08-09

westopher 04-15-2015 11:48 AM

If you invested in ANYTHING in 08-09 you've seen that kind of return or better. If you buy a 993 and don't drive it, even if you double your money, you still lost out big.

sdubfid 04-15-2015 11:50 AM

I can't drive my dividends

westopher 04-15-2015 11:55 AM

You can't really drive investment cars either, or the loss of value and maintenance is going to offset that gain. Don't get me wrong, people who bought those cars are still coming out on top, but as said, if you don't drive it, its just as functionless as dividends and will make you a lot less.
But on topic, this car looks like a good buy but high milage. Really dependant on LOTS of maintenance. With a ton of service records and a bit of wiggle room its an option. Amazing colour combo and 6 speed though.

I'm more thinking that driving a car that is currently going up in value on public roads could spell disaster if some fucktard runs into you. I'd be fine with a few track days before I'd feel safe driving it around say, I dunno, Richmond. ha!

Even more for the guys who bought in the really rare cars.

A 73 RS was 150-200 a few years back, recently sold at auction for a mil+.

Don't even want to think about the returns on a 250 fcar...

Well, with that little bit of self-admittance we are certainly never going to accuse you of being able to leave your gf walking bow legged to the washroom either. Congrats :)

in other news, remember that comptech-supercharged nsx on the island? my friend heard that the engine blew up in a test drive. the person who wanted to buy it wasn't hooning it, but it went boom nonetheless. i do not know what the damage is, but the dealership is now rebuilding the motor and they will not be reinstalling the supercharger once it's fixed :(

Had black Varrosten TE37 copy wheels and was a rebuild right? Which dealer did it end up at? It got passed around to a few different owners here in Victoria.

white rocket 04-15-2015 07:28 PM

It had OZ Superleggera wheels and a clean title(apparently). Pretty sure it was a local BC car as well.

thumper 04-15-2015 10:09 PM

i know the one you are thinking of touringteg but this was a different na1. this one had the OZ wheels like white rocket said, but the dealership went and painted them a different color, which i am not sure was an improvement or not... i forget the name of the honda dealer though.

hud 91gt 04-16-2015 08:39 AM

Long ways away, and probably far from what many are looking for but from my lack of knowledge this seems like a pretty good deal for a Vintage ready race car.

MG Midget Race Car

jackp0t 04-16-2015 08:41 AM

The red nsx was a sweet deal for sure but with the collectorsplate you would want to keep it that way it would be a blasphemy to mod it haha

As for the black nsx with the "comtech" supercharger Im not surprise.
Not everything with low km is good Ive seen a couple of thread on nsxprime were they bought low km nsx(s) and then ended up paying 10k more to rebuild the motor anyways.

Its still a USED car it can go tomorrow or 5 years from now
