Spoiler!
Even when I had my b16a Del Sol in 2001 it was a 1995 with only 70,000kms on it... well it burned oil then so its called the engine gets HOT of course its going to burn the oil...

Do you ever cook? with oil?

well that oil gets burned also...

When was the last time you bought a car? Being able to knock even 10% off any asking price is already a huge discount, 17%?! Good luck.

Yes, there may be someone else willing to sell a GTR for 48k, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for. There must be a reason why one car is cheaper than the other.

Ive bought a few cars actually... but yeah it all depends on his situation read between the lines and figure out how to bargain thats all im saying. Always buy from private seller rather than a small dealership. You would be surprised on how much money you can knock off just by being friendly and nice to a person that is selling a car. You never know maybe that reason is because he lost his job or cant afford to keep up the payments happens all the time.

damn. a litre of oil every 1000km... is this true that it is normal? it's like a continuous oil change having to top it off constantly...may as well be diesel.

Absolutely true. My friend's low oil light went on and she took it to the dealer(just down the street from her work). They topped it up for free and said she could come back if it happened again. After a half dozen or so times they said she'd have to start buying oil herself cause it was within acceptable range of oil consumption as outlined by the manufacturer.

I wonder if they disclose this when you buy the car?

What does being a diesel have anything to do with drinking a liter or oil every 1000km...?

Interesting car, but keep in mind the odometer says "140,374", and the speedo is in mph, as these were only sold in the US, according to the seller. But he lists it as 141k KM. Says he's driven it for over 100k km, but is that miles or kms?

140k miles = 225k km. Just factor that in.

if you look just to the left of the 141k it says "km", so you can probably switch the odo from km to miles

Great Canadian Oil Change gives you free top ups for 5000k after a change, when my old Celica had a bad leak it was cheaper to get oil changes from them than to DIY for the free top ups.

I'm assuming he means that when you're burning that much oil the thing is effectively burning diesel fuel.

cause diesel is heavier than gas, diesel fuel is closer to oil than gasoline is.

so he made the observation if the car is burning so much oil they may as well have made it a diesel!

while the speedo is in MPH, the digital odo looks like it says KM. and it also shows the temperature in celsius. maybe there's an option to change to metric?

Ah, couldn't see that on my monitor...good catch. Yes I noticed the Celsius readout as well.

Goes to show I've never owned a car that can switch units

For the sake of argument, let's say this is true.

That still makes it $39k CDN vs. $48k US (approx. $58k CDN) ... That's a $19k difference not including costs associated with getting it imported from San Diego.
