How are the resale value of Caymans. It seems that every Porsche is holding their values so much. Even the cayenne is starting to slow down. Is Porsche artificially restricting supply to drive up demand?

Those are factory... part of the "Porsche Exclusive" options catalog. And as much as I am surprised to see myself say it, I don't hate them...

Mark

Porsche must thought they could pull that shit off "because Porsche". Well, nope, looks disgusting.

Always buy from private seller rather than a small dealership. You would be surprised on how much money you can knock off just by being friendly and nice to a person that is selling a car. You never know maybe that reason is because he lost his job or cant afford to keep up the payments happens all the time.

buddy, your the type of fucking cheap ass I talk to on daily basis when I was trying to sell my car, low ball offers or you trade me your POS for my car and offer to add 14 dollars on top to make it a "even trade".

TouringTeg 05-12-2015 04:48 AM

Caymans have depreciated quite a bit. Might have a ways to go before they hold their value or depreciate.

jasonturbo 05-12-2015 06:02 AM

I don't think it's just Porsche's that are appreciating, it seems to me that anything with a manual box that offers a more "ogranic" driving experience is going up in price.

Miata, S2k, E46 M3, E36 M3 ITR, etc.. that's how I see it anyway...

underscore 05-12-2015 06:55 AM

^ all the cars you listed have fanboy followings though, of course those will hold an artificially inflated value more.

flagella 05-12-2015 07:09 AM

Well, naturally any great sports car with an actual manual shifting will have fans after them as they become more and more rare.

Basically real car enthusiasts appreciating great cars.

It will be sold for 3x market value, and you will be berated by the cashier about your poor lifestyle choices.

I'm on that page too. The trouble with these vehicles, fanboi's aside, is that they are no longer in production. As time ticks away more and more of them get shit-kicked, crashed or stolen. Supply goes down while demand remains or even increases. That drives the prices up or holds them in place.

In order for me to find a nice clean ITR I'd be paying pretty much exactly what I paid in 2003 for my current one. Especially if purchased in the US when you factor in the 6.1%, transport, exchange rate, etc.

underscore 05-12-2015 04:02 PM

Could probably lowball the guy by quite a bit if you showed up with cash judging by his situation.
