I feel like the market has met that car in the middle since he first listed it. He's dropped the price a bit, the e36 market has climbed, and good examples are harder to find by the day. Someone should grab it.

Sweet project

1988 BMW M5

westopher 05-12-2015 11:14 PM

That legitimately is the worst deal on the internet. A non running shell of an m5 with enough rust that it will crumble if you cough near it for 11k?
This is a benchmark for a nice clean m5 posted below. Yes, it a fair bit more, but to bring that project up to that level you will be double that.

Fair enough, I actually though they went for closer to 20K+ US.

But do consider that the one you posted is $7k premium, significantly higher chassis miles, and not the very rare black leather interior. So maybe not a great buy, but not the worst deal on the Internet

no, that's the e30 m3

freakshow 05-13-2015 04:14 PM

You're not getting an e30 M3 for 20, or even 30k anytime soon

punkwax 05-13-2015 04:40 PM

Fuckin E30 M3s... I can google image scroll all day. :jizz:

Depends completely on the rust situation. Looking at the house I'm going to say it's ok. Tr6's don't have a huge value to them, but from the picture it looks like a fair deal to good. Hard to say with a lack of information.

jasonturbo 05-13-2015 05:02 PM

Yup I've been creeping E30 M3 market for a while now, you just get a piece of shit for 30K USD, 40K USD you get a piece of shit with lipstick on.

All the nice E30 M3's are hoarded right now, not by enthusiasts, but by greedy speculating dick heads.

If you wanted a "nice" E30 M3 today expect to pay 50K USD or more.

That's the domestic market though, better deals can be had if you're willing to go shopping in Europe.

B18 swap. Low price. Posted an hour ago from my post

StanleyR 05-13-2015 10:09 PM

"regular" e30's are increasing in price as a result. A decent stock 89 or 90 325is with about 150k miles recently sold on ebay.com for about 15US out of SoCal. Nothing special either (few blemishes, "drivers" car, not garage queen).

Klondike 05-13-2015 10:34 PM

Classic 900 - manual. Unfortunately it's N/A with a cloth interior. Good price though.

With Fastrack Autobody doing the repair work, I wouldn't even worry about the crash history either.

Sounds like all of the nice west side properties that I wish I could build a family in, they are owned by rich chinamen just waiting for the price to keep flying up!
