Looks like a nice car to play around with.

Was at a dealership a few years ago looking at a fully detailed S2000 shipped from Hawaii. With a minute to spare, decided to peer inside a Bentley for the very first time. The smell of that leather reminded me of the expression 20 seconds after trying a spirit for the very first time.

Could this beauty be a disaster for all parties?

Anyone know what to expect maintenance-wise putting 8k/year on her?

Damn, that looked interesting until I saw that it's auto
still, if it can be had for under 1200 it'd be a decent deal

Been looking into sr20 240's lately as an everyday car to bomb around in. Is it just me or has the price of most vehicles sky rocketed this spring?

1992 Widebody 240sx Hatch

$10k but most of the stuff is replica, or on the cheaper side of the spectrum. I'm just ranting at this point, but Fuck are people really going to pay these kinds of prices for vehicles like this?

I know wrong place for this.

punkwax 05-25-2015 05:48 PM

My bro sold his ultra mint sr20 back in 97-98 for ~15k IIRC. Man that car was clean. Got me into imports tbh.

Had a lot of fun in it when he was kind enough to let me take it out. I was more nervous driving that than I was any other car lol.. he woulda beat me into a bloody puddle if I did something wrong so that was pretty good incentive to be a responsible young buck. Still had some fun in it though :smug:

Jmac 05-25-2015 06:19 PM

Supply and demand. The demand is still there; the supply is dwindling as more stupid kids write them off.

its not like the guy is making money off that. im sure hes dumped tons of cash into it, wheels alone are probably worth $2k+ used.

what would you expect to pay for it?

I wouldn't consider it until maybe his asking price was around $8000. But that's my opinion, he is not the only one over pricing his vehicle. He just happened to be the one I saw most recently.

Anyhow, I meant it as in across the board it seems like a lot of prices have jumped, maybe it's just the hot weather people are demanding top dollar for their toys.

And trust me I know full well about losing money on vehicles. Just because you dump a bunch of change on a vehicle doesn't make it worth anywhere close to that amount, shit I'm $20,000 in parts in my truck and I'll be lucky to sell it for $21,000.

BMW 335 coupe manual

If the rebuilt by professionals check out it could be a sweet deal

white rocket 05-25-2015 09:57 PM

That Supra is almost too good to be true! I also agree that all vehicle prices are up right now. Almost across the board. Even more so for rare stuff. People are buying toys now. Time of year, strong US curreny/weak CAD, etc

This looks fun :fullofwin:

funny you posted that 4runner, that was my first truck which I sold some 10 years ago, and I have messaged the owner to confirm. I was always browsing CL to see if it would ever pop up. It's had a pile of work done to it since I had it, Solid front axle swap, drive train swap etc. I would love to buy it back, but it's pretty purpose built now.
I have so many killer memories from cruising around in that truck when I was 17! Ahhh nostalgia..
heres when I had it. It still has the dent in the hood from when my buddy rolled across it drunk, and a sweet fake billet grill i made out of chrome door edging! amazing its still around!

Thanks! It's a standard LS version.

It sounds cliche but the NC is a better all around sportscar but the NB is the better Miata. I am having more fun in the NB, though some of it is attributed to the Torsen (My NC had an open diff) and some of the nice to have mods the previous owner did to it. I do miss the torque in traffic.

I have a feeling they appeal to vastly different groups of people. Although either way it's most likely going to end up sitting in some guys garage anyways.

Drift tax is stupid on 240SX's. Especially one with an SR.

murd0c 05-26-2015 10:00 AM

Man looking at this thread everyday I'm really tempted to sell my 4runner and get a decent deal on a car that's actually good on gas

fliptuner 05-26-2015 10:16 AM

Trade for my Civic. IT GETS GREAT FUEL ECONOMY!!!!

murd0c 05-26-2015 11:10 AM
