Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with that price for a low mileage car if the car was mint condition with the full stock interior.
Actually, I can see the prices going up especially if it is a CDM 01 with the full red interior or a mint low mileage 97.
But it's the fact that the car has a JDM front end.

The car is no longer stock and it would take quite a bit of $$$ to put a USDM front end back on it.
In 10 years, that car will not qualify for collector plates because of the JDM front end.

I guess I am bitter and jelly that such a low mile 01 has been permanently violated and will never be the same and what are the odds of finding red CDM front seats for sale.

ITRs will (have?) hit collector status, but not his one. but i dont think he cares..

tofu1413 06-04-2015 10:34 AM

and then there are idiots like me, buying the super cheap ones and doing resto mods :lawl:

Not sure if the RHD cars would have the same value as the LHD cars, but having talked to a broker, RHD ITR's are thinning out on inventory as well and prices are hiking up in Japan.

is the ITR market becoming the same as the aircooled 911 market? :lawl:

I see the ITR's being the same as the NSX's.

Short answer yes.

Long answer, a lot of ITR's were/are daily driven.
A lot of them were commonly stolen and stripped for parts.
Winning racing heritage.
Teen aged Fan boi's first wet dreams were of this car and as we get older and have extra income, more people will want to relive those younger years just like how the E30 M3's have shot up in recent years and older american muscle cars are selling for crazy money due to baby boomers with extra spending money.

And yes, I am still in the market for a low mileage, bone stock full red interior 01 CDM ITR.
So yes, I am jelly of JT. First he had the GT3 and now the ITR.

2002 BMW M3 (43338)
Crazy deal on an m3 vert. I'm sure it needs some love. Someone who really wants one buy it before some fuckbag buys it re-lists it for 15k.

a cheap M3 is an expensive M3... :heckno:

westopher 06-04-2015 01:36 PM

All M3s are expensive m3s. A low cost of entry CAN be a good thing.

tofu1413 06-04-2015 01:39 PM

iunno that man. my luck with low cost entry euro cars.... :heckno:

the higher dollar, proper ex enthusiast owned ones though... those are worth every penny :megusta:

Im crazy enough to pay 6-7k for a sorted out E30 coupe... :megusta:

thumper 06-04-2015 01:41 PM

i know it says manual, but is that a SMG shifter i see in the pics?

westopher 06-04-2015 01:44 PM

Obviously with any car due diligence is a must. Its a crapshoot. Some of the best looking enthusiast cars end up being shit as well. People who know cars well, also know how to cover things up well unfortunately.
Also it says SMG in the description, wether thats manual or not is up to interpretation for lots of people.

tofu1413 06-04-2015 01:53 PM

I feel kinda shady now

Seeing this car makes me think -- how much does it cost to do a RHD -> LHD conversion? If I can pick the car up for $10k, then using JasonTurbo's price point as reference, it means I still have a $9k cushion to work with. Potentially, I could even get myself into a JDM only DB8 ITR sedan too, and I'd certainly prefer the extra 2 doors over a DC2 ITR.

Thoughts?

thumper 06-04-2015 02:29 PM

i remember back in the day kids in cali welding half cuts together so that they could have a jdm RHD car using the registration from the back half of the USDM car

TouringTeg 06-04-2015 02:33 PM

What do you guys think about the value of the Victoria ITR? Facebook link a few pages back.

If I remember correctly it is a white on original red seat interior. 166kms. I am told no accidents but rear bumper color is slightly off and also not fitted perfectly. Could have one or more undeclared accidents. All stock except jdm steering wheel and jdm side markers installed. He was asking $14500 a while back.

2001 CDM ITR with the full red interior.
I thought it was 140K km's.

Only mod is a JDM ITR steering wheel but he still have the OEM wheel too.

I am tempted. Just wished the miles were lower.

If you do it yourself nobody will ever want to buy it, but if you pay a shop to do the work it'll cost an arm and a leg. Plus your cushion is a lot smaller than $9k as a converted car is going to have less value than an original. Just buy a car and drive it, if you don't like RHD for whatever reason just pay the premium for a LHD one instead of wasting time and money building some bastard car.
