I own a 7th gen Accord, albeit an 06 model (7.5 gen).
Why you would want to buy this car:
Great steering feel and driving dynamics for a family sedan (has double wishbones!)
Good visibility and well laid out interior with controls that feel high quality (esp the turn signal stalk, but NOT the gear level)
Great bucketish seats
Very helpful community at Drive Accord
Why you wouldn't want to buy this car:
Interior is put together on a budget - there will be annoying rattles at times
The windows will also rattle, the seals need to be greased with Shin Etsu
Suspension is stiffer than 6th gen by a good margin, with no real increase in performance
Absolutely garbage headlights
Not as quiet as a Camry on the highway
With regards to the transmission, here's what you need to know
3rd gear is the one that commonly fails
Rebuilts often don't last as long as the original transmission
Honda had a recall and added cooling jets to the 2nd gear clutch pack for certain 03 models
There is an easily accessible canister filter that you can replace
It is recommended to drain and fill the tranmission fluid ever 2 years / 30k.
-1 drain and fill gets you 42% new fluid, 2 drains - 68%, 3 drains - 82%
-On all cars, it is recommended to replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches, this is pretty easy to do and costs ~$150. This makes a big difference on the earlier cars that use the same switches as the 6th gen transmissions
When you check out the car, see that the valve adjustment was done at 160ks (should've been a part of the major service) along with timing belt, belt tensioner, waterpump, etc. Check for vin tags on all doors, hood, and trunk. Also drive around and make sure there aren't any clunks when turning - bushings on double wishbones up front might be shot.
Aux adapter can be added for ~100.

being what it is, i'm not sure if this qualifies as a "sleeper". it looks like a normal srt8... but it has a hellion twin turbo kit under the hood.

It's hard to word it without negative comments, but those trans are made of glass. Just expect to have a tranny failure sometime in its life and you won't have problem loving the other aspect of the car
Had 3 cars with that tranny. Odyssey, TL-S, Accord V6. All 3 had transmission problems with different symptoms. 2 of which are now sold. We still have the Odyssey as we rarely drive it, it had the transmission replaced under warranty, so that's the only reason we still have it. Its now our workhorse van till it blows. BTW check engine lights always on and SRS Airbags.. Shitty gen for Honda V6.

As for the SRS Airbags, I've heard that this is a common issue related to low batteries

Just to add on / reply to
Pros
-v6performance has a lot of good guys that can give you tips as well
-v6 has a lot of power for the car and it sounds great with an intake / exhaust
-comfortable back seats even in the coupe
Cons
-I have two 2007 accords one at 120k and another at 140km I have ZERO rattles, I made sure all the clips that hold on the interior trim pieces are never broken and if they are I replace them.
-I can't say much about suspension as I repalced both of my cars with Tein Coilovers, and headlights with projectors but both are simple to do to improve the overall experience

As a resident accord fan boy I would say a couple things
-yes the transmission are weak however if you get a good one you're pretty good to go.
(I had a 6th gen 1999 accord v6 with 140km when I sold it with no problems, a 2007 with 140km with no problems)
-Redline transmission fluid is something the TL community suggested, since switching I feel no issues
-there are ways to help the tranny, get 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches and clean the filter, could be done for under 100 bucks and really help
-for the price that its asking for I would say that's not a bad deal
At the end of the day any car can be good/bad depending on how the previous owner treats it. I had a 2003 Accord with a k24 before and that had issues, transmission wouldn't shift smooth. I replaced the transmission fluid, performed the drain and fill three times and it ran like a champ.
Going to take a peek, supposedly clean title and no accidents, buddy here has a spare set of black AP1 seats.. might work out alright.
Just remember 00-05 seat brackets are different from the 06-09 ones.
Still not sure how those seats are that bad given my S was not where near as bad with over 200K's on it.

Not sure about the check engine lights
I had a 2000 Acura RL 3.5 with 110km
No transmission issues but it was at the Acura dealer 3 times wirhin a year with SRS light issues. They replaced sest position sensors, seatbelt recepticles then the expensive SRS computer all under warranty. It was a nuisance.
Please explain how you got $15000 worth of modifications on this car.
32k price tag? - car prices depreciates
How so is this more loaded than a Mercedes?
Why do you need 2 navigation devices?
Would love to see an explanation on this.
cars do depreciate but that is the original price tag on a car inside the dealership.
It's more loaded than a mercedes or bmw because aftermarket is cheaper and you get more. Besides the basics like keyless, entry, keyless start, the car also came stock with 8 speakers, of which also has a subwoofer.
It also has features like mirrorlink, android compatibility, applecar play, pandora, etc.
The reason for the 2 navis is that it has a 2TB harddrive and it lets you play movies or music clips while you are driving and the other navigation lets you look at a GPS.
Mercedes dont offer anything special, for half the price you can build a car that can do more for less. Ignore the status symbol
I think the biggest problem ppl have with ur car is that you are recommending it at a price offered by the dealership. So obviously buyers will be paying a margin above what the car is actually worth.

why are you trying to hard sell a car that isnt yours anymore anyways? you a salesman there or something

what did they give you on the trade in? 10 grand? At the very least, a mercedes does offer some decent resale value lol. Youre ignoring the status symbol as much as your ignoring the massive depreciation on a base model lancer

Holy shit dat jagermiester livery.
For what its worth, that e24 posted by knight has changed hands a couple times in the past couple years. Doesn't necessarily mean anything about it, but fine toothed comb that one. Thats a great looking car for very cheap.
