US Import? Better get the VIN and get whether the engine had been changed. Quote:

Pretty average for a JDM import and there are tons of LHD German imports in town; weren't required to be RHD in Japan, and they got a lot of cool models that never came to NA.

I thought it is a US import because the picture is no where in kits.. more like somewhere across the border. Also JDM import won't have ownership information.. for 3 owners that will mean North American owners + JDM? that's a lot of owners. Quote:

pretty damned good deal for that 840ci. the better daily driver than the 850i. slightly better interior, more reliable / modern V8 and bigger brakes as well (for some weird reason... four pot brembos stock)
one thing i remember that would cost an arm and a leg is overhauling all the bushings for the suspension. especially the rear.
still a good cruiser nonetheless.

Other than the Nickel Sil problem (hence need to do the VIN check).. 850 handles better but well V12 is still a V12
Bushings and don't forget the 5+ motors in the seats.. those will need to be replaced. Quote:

Also noting that the car is on the water in Kits therefore wealthy owner, potentially has a few cars and this is a true weekend car hence the low mileage? I know there are houses in that neighbourhood with carousel garages under the waterfront homes

the 840Ci I had was a fairly decent car, just some extremely tired bushings and suspension. great cruiser and sounded wonderful with muffler delete
the E31's were more of a cruiser than a sports car!

| 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS
Been on sale for 2 months... looks like a decently clean RS and the cheapest one currently on CL. I'm guessing the title is not so clean.

^ Would love to rock that Wagovan...the fact that there are still so many around is a testament to them.
But $6500? Surely he's gotta budge. Lots of work put in but hard to justify getting your money back on such an old car, especially considering it still needs to be completed with the driveshaft, door panel fixed, alignment, needs new seats, speakers installed, wheels in the pic aren't included etc etc

Hard to say, I feel like $6500 would be the price if everything was in order more or less. Seems like he'd be willing to negotiate, wouldn't want to insult him though with all the hard work. I feel like it would sell in the $4500-5000 range as-is.
But also good point, if it was done well or frankensteined together; with all the aftermarket parts you could be constantly tinkering and adjusting.

Lol that car. New rear quarters put on. Not to mention 40k. Save an extra 5k and buy a 996 with fender vents that porsche actually put there.
