i know it's a 325is, and it's not advertised as an m3... but how much is it really worth?

Most 328is' on CL are cheap. Well below $10K.

1996 BMW 328I E36 Track Built!

This car has been for sale for a little while. While not a wide body, and has a sunroof, it's a good indication of what the market is like for such a car.

17k will buy you one of the best e36 M3's you can find.
The wide body kit is a cool piece of 90s history, but the old "mods don't make you money" story holds truer than ever with something like this.

westopher, a friend wants to throw them an offer. he asked me and i have no clue, so i posted here... what do you think it's worth? he dosen't really care if it's an m3 or not. he just wants a very nice e36 (not a project) because his dad used to own one back in the day. he's been looking off and on and everything he's tried ends up having lots of problems after an inspection (both m3's and normal e36's). does cg do good work? or are they hacks?

CG does GREAT work. Really good guys, and are the reason my car is reliable. That said, they are a successful business, and nothing comes cheap from them. What I think its worth is kind of irrelevant, because to me its just a 328i with a body kit, so to me, an M3 or nothing kind of guy, I wouldn't consider it.
If your buddy wants something thats one of a kind, its a cool option, but if he's willing to spend that much, or near that much there are a lot of options. 15k buys you an e36 m3 like mine. (clean title, late model m3 in a rare colour combo with service records.) If your buddy really wants an e36, I'd hold out for an m3 if he's willing to spend the money. I'm still looking for an e30 m3, so if one pops up mine could be for sale any day. Although that could be tomorrow, or it could be never due to our weak dollar and 40k USD e30s

I don't want to hijack the thread.. but since I found the car on using this thread, and we're talking about e36s..

No one hurt.. I was in the middle lane, LX470 was in the left lane next to me in grid lock traffic. He changes into my lane, and proceeds to climb up onto and over my car, monster truck style..
He was nice about it, and admitted fault immediately, so hopefully this can get resolved soon..

If there is a stack of maintenance records it could be.

it actually looks pretty clean and well done. Since it is not a M3, this would be a great car for a LS7 V8 engine swap!
