a question for skyline people here... is it really that simple? swap in a rb26dett drivetrain into a GT-4 and you can get a poor man's GTR?

ouch, just hope ICBC don't total your car

why? why would you want that car to be fixed and returned to you with a huge hit on it?

westopher 06-29-2015 01:03 PM

There's lots of reasons people don't want a well kept relatively rare car that they own not to be written off. It's not inconprehendible.

Because it doesn't look too bad of a hit. I doubt it has any significant damage at all. And you better pray the market isn't filled with pieces of junk that ICBC will undervalue its worth

I guess if you are into making profits, then yes, it's better to write it off and have ICBC give him a cheque.

i'm more curious to know if all that work has made it faster or not because of this:

CCA-Dave 06-29-2015 02:03 PM

I wonder what the turbo-lag is like on that tiny engine and long intake tract?

I'm guessing when the bumper beam got pulled into that position it didn't come off the frame cleanly. Then you've got the hood, fender, bumper skin, grille, lights, damaged wiring for the lights, likely frame damage, possible suspension damage from the weight, etc etc.

For the Porsche guys

1975 Porsche 911 911S for $28,000 in LANGLEY | autoTRADER.ca

I have no idea what a "Sportamatic" is. A quick google search says they are very rare and very expensive to fix. So, maybe not a good buy...
