Do you know anything about the reliability of a MS3 past 150k km

Suspiciously cheap?

High k and auto, but it looks like a pretty clean starting point for someone wanting a project. They're notoriously labour intensive to work on though so I imagine some things have been neglected.

You want the R/T Twin Turbo, not the regular R/T. The regular R/T lacks a lot of the goodies (AWD, 4-wheel steering, better brakes, etc.) and power (80-100 hp) that the turbo version has.

Posting this as its my friend's car. It's pretty clean and hes looking for a quick sale - I think what he's asking for is pretty reasonable.

Sometimes I miss my protege

I wish I had the money for this... Definitly reasonable priced

1995 Acura Integra GSR

$3600 GSR on the Island with 200k km. Emailed the guy; he says the sunroof is non-op and there's a tiny spot of rust on the rear wheel well, but otherwise seems decent. I'm super tempted but cbf'd to make the trek over there, pay the ferry fee, spend almost an entire day and possibly miss out on work for a "maybe"...

thumper 07-14-2015 08:40 AM

i wasn't sure either, hence my question about the price.

what is the definition of a good buy here? i like seeing the clean, mint or rare stuff others post here, but then there are the beaters, rebuilds, or rusty examples with 300k+ showing on the odo?

tofu1413 07-14-2015 09:16 AM

Pricey MR2's... but they are interesting.

The BEAMS powered one would make an excellent track car.

how much do you think the black one is worth? a friend sent that one to me and i don't know... his was stolen and torched 4 years ago and he now wants to get another one again but he's been out of the scene for awhile.

Expresso 07-14-2015 09:29 AM

^^^Realistically it's worth maybe 12K tops or less. He's looking for a very specific buyer (hyper fan) at 19K and I don't think there is a market for it locally. On the other hand, if he tried to sell it to the states there's enough collectors down there that will pay 14+ USD easily.

thumper 07-14-2015 09:35 AM

ugh, he was thinking $15k cdn at most as an offer. everything he's looked at so far is questionably modded or worn, and none were of this model year... oh well :(

[EDIT] my friend never had a chance... it just sold :o

Expresso 07-14-2015 09:38 AM

$15K is fair IMO and if he wants something near collector status this looks promising. Who knows maybe after awhile on the market $15K will look attractive.

CCA-Dave 07-14-2015 10:03 AM

Sigh, this thread has totally diluted into "cars I saw on CL". Remember when every post felt like a "whoa! what money can I move around to buy that" moment?

tofu1413 07-14-2015 12:01 PM

my friend called about the black MR2, but the seller said sale pending, and he wouldn't tell him how much it went for. then the ad got pulled. he dosen't want the beams one because RHD.

the sti is also tentatively sold as well. it was posted only last night and it found a buyer before noon today. so fast...
