From the map it looks like it is one of the lots where a lot of pick a part places used to be.. Those places are being sold and redeveloped.. so I guess the place in question just want to do a quick sell.

It says it has a new timing belt, which is a plus. The timing belt, balance belt, water pump and idlers all need to be done at the same time and at regular intervals, every few years to be safe. If the timing belt breaks, you're looking at bent valves and possible cylinder damage, ie engine overhaul.

When I got my 2nd 944, which was garage kept with 73k km, I didn't know the timing belt history so I had it done. My mechanic opened it up and found the balance belt sitting in a pile at the bottom, and the teeth were beginning to peel off the timing belt.

It was literally a ticking time bomb. I got so damn lucky, had I waited any longer my aesthetically perfect 944 would have been a big paperweight.

I know my mom had a Loyale station wagon from the mid-'80s to the early-'90s and she said it wasn't very reliable when I asked her what happened to it (traded it in for a Mazda MPV, which was probably more unreliable; brakes and transmissions failing everywhere). I don't really remember much about it because I was pretty young at the time.

The difference between knowing if you have to spend 2k or 10k to get it decent can be well worth the 200 bucks. Just depends on what the plans are with the car and how much you can figure out yourself.

if you cant diagnose or work on it yourself you shouldnt be buying a 2k porsche. if you planned on paying someone to fix it for you then you should probably just spend that money on buying one in better shape to begin with.

>>>>>>>>2002 civic honda SiR<<<<<<<

Went to check out this SiR EP3 as a daily for the gf. $3400firm for a solid daily or winter beater. Something things I found were:

- 3rd owner claims to have no decs or accidents
- Passenger door and rear quarter was has orange peel and overspray
- Front bumper is original with matching VIN but badly sprayed
- Rear bumper is pierced(penny size) and scratched
- Rust hole in spare tire well
- Rusty sunroof window frame
- Front shocks are done
- AC needs recharge
- Roof rack quick release might be drilled onto the roof
- Worn driver seat, steering wheel, shift knob
- Good life in the clutch
- Good torque going uphill on Main from Marine

I had to pass due to the rust hole in spare tire well.
