I like how you jump to the worst possible scenario lol. Waterpump leaks are common on these. If it is a HG, for a sub 1.5K car, I'd probably take my chances with Irontite ceramic seal and see how it goes.

Its not the cheapest and its silver, but definitely my idea of a great buy for someone looking to get into an e46 m3. 6 speed and cloth interior are a huge find as well as all service records. 2005 BMW E46 M3 COUPE 6-Spd
