Taking a stab in the dark here:

1. It's race season. They're out supporting high paying clients who want track-side race prep and support service.

2. Hoping the buyer will drop some cash into fixing the car through the shop. Their earnings on parts and labour could be lucrative.

I liked them better when they were just wrenching, but business is business. C'est la vie.

I think it's because the valve cover is red. You can't get that anymore.

Can't really put it into words unless you drive one.

At least as far as the ITR is concerned, it is arguably the best driving and most rewarding FWD car in the last 25 years or so, and it pretty much came straight from the factory like that. It isn't the fastest car around, but it sure ain't slow by any means. Other than the boy racer-ish wing, it also doesn't hurt that it looks so simple and clean. And unlike the NSX, it is relatively affordable.

If I can ever turn back the clock, I am so going to run out to the closest Acura dealership and buy 2 of them -- 1 as a stock, fair weather garage queen, and the other as the beat-the-crap-out-of-it fun car. Will take both in Championship White please.

Weekend race car with plates on it fron the factory. Best way to describe it.

A balanced, cornering machine to take down higher class cars, as well as being fun to drive.

Dragon-88 08-05-2015 02:53 PM

Straight roads are for fast cars, corners are for fast drivers.. This car was built for real drivers.

If you don't track or autox, you wouldn't understand.

All the kids who grew up longing for one are finally old enough / have the financial means to buy one.

Personally I have an Integra GSR and I love it, it's not the fastest car in the world but that high-winding engine and the ability to tackle corners so well (for a FWD car, anyway) is super addictive even if it is just a daily that gets beat on every day.

Can't imagine how much better a Type R feels considering it is essentially a fully tuned race car from the factory that you can race on the weekends and comfortably (on A/C equipped models, at least) drive to work on Monday.

That being said, I am also sure there is some kind of collector value to them...

Here's a pretty neat video from Best Motoring with the Integra Type R on Tsukuba. English commentary is available. You can really see the track capabilities of the ITR.

E-40six 08-05-2015 04:43 PM

ya'll gotta stop telling him how great the ITR is. Don't need another person in the hunt for one driving up the prices :p

Ikkaku 08-05-2015 04:54 PM

^ Ahh the good OL days with that type R of yours

92 GSR black 264kms $2600 With some rust repair and stock parts this car is eligible for collector plates.

I know I've said this before, but the DB2 GSR is definitely a 'poor man's DC2 Type-R. I see them evolving into collector cars and appreciating in value over time.

Crap that's a lot of car for 22 grand. I remember the days these were the hottest sedans, and of course the most expensive.

jasonturbo 08-05-2015 08:28 PM

I know of a 2001 CDM ITR with 62000KM clean title but has had light paint work, clean carfax but came from Ontario/QC, clean underneath but has undercoating. Both bumpers could use paint due to chips and scuffs, 100% stock.

If someone is SERIOUSLY looking for a car like this PM me and I'll give you the details over the phone, I haven't seen the car in person but it looks damn clean from pics, located in Calgary.

Edit: If you're a douche don't contact me, thanks.
