Jasonturbo isn't the type of asshole to flip cars.

The s2k posted earlier for 13k 101k km. Has shake/rattle. Clean title. Is it still worth it with that dent? One accident 2360.

I went to see this car. The owner bought it a few months ago and claims to have no driven it much. New plates on it. It drove fine and underbody looked ok. He sent me a carproof that showed a $800 and a $2300 collision. Also a rear bumper *estimate* for $700 but it was never fixed.

The side dent in the picture is on the driver side, but the passenger side as the same dent but smaller. The door jam is also rusted quite heavily but not rusted through. Soft top is torn where it meets the door. Plastic back window getting foggy.

All matching VINs except driver front fender as stated in Carproof, rear bumper is a replacement that is mismatched in colour and misaligned, not shown on Carproof.

Car drove normal, no hesitation, no funny noises, quiet diff, no heavy clutch buzz.

Carpets are all dry but there hasn't been rain either.

The body work made me think that it wasn't worth fixing. The dents in the door will probably require new doors and the quarter panel repair is going to be extensive.

You thinking of buying it?

Been looking for S2000 for a year now, ended up buying an E46 M3 lol. Which I have been on and off about. I love it so much but I don't need the practicality. I am definitely spoiled by 333hp though. Traded for the day with a friend's FRS and WOT allowed me to have a conversation.

As for that one, other than the shabby bodywork, I have a weird feeling about it. At $13,000 pretty firm and that condition of bodywork, I don't think it's worth it.

Back on topic, this looks like a clean and decent deal for anyone looking for top down and reliable motoring.

Not entirely true lol

I did think about it + considered swapping it out for my car.

Ultimately it would be an easy ish flip as the same car in the USA would be 18K+ given the current market for clean low mileage ITR's. There are a number of Americans watching for these cars in Canada right now.

Having said all that, for the few G's a guy might make, it's just not my thing.

Not too sure.. All I really know is the owner doesn't know much about the vehicle.

The owner just found out that there was a 19k hit on it yesterday (hence why the price was lowered to 6.5k)

trollguy 08-06-2015 09:51 AM

interesting.. it was for sale by the same owner back in 2011...

http://www.revscene.net/forums/65264...ra-type-r.html

had 197k on it.. and 30k on the rebuilt motor with 20k on the clutch.. and now it has 200k, 4k on the motor, and 30k on the clutch

MindBomber 08-06-2015 10:06 AM

A $19k hit on a car that's appeal is mainly it's amazing chassis is tough to look past..

i-vtecyo 08-06-2015 10:06 AM

I wanna jump on the ITR but i gotta sell my green vr6 first... someone buy my vr6, 5k takes it!!

I hope he meant 40k now or 3k before... vice versa. but only way to find out is to ask him to show receipts or call the company up who did the motor rebuild.

AudiFreak 08-06-2015 10:14 AM

I bet he intentionally put 4000km, and if anybody called him out on it, he would say "woops typo 40000km"

As long as the front frame rails were untouched then the unibody would be sound. Everything else is replaceable. Given the time of the claim(early 2000's) it is entirely possible considering the price of parts when the car was much younger. Previously crumpled frame rails should be visible while viewing the engine bay.

trollguy 08-06-2015 10:22 AM

regardless, the lack of consistency should raise some flags for any potential buyer.

white rocket 08-06-2015 10:27 AM

True. But one could still get a good deal by doing their due-diligence with an inspection. Shady/stupid sellers can be weeded out with enough info about the car itself.

tofu1413 08-06-2015 10:28 AM

just see if the frame rails have been repaired or not..

Port Man 08-06-2015 10:44 AM

That car was hit when it was brand new basically. That means it was repaired properly... there was no jobber parts like the market is today in 2001

Also good detective work trollguy

trollguy 08-06-2015 10:48 AM

dont you guys always search the tel #s in CL ads? second nature for me to do that.. :D

Port Man 08-06-2015 10:49 AM

I do... 90% of the time it comes up with nothing :rukidding:
