This car moves like stale bread but it's by definition a good deal. Rare, low KMs and seems sorted out. Would be a decent DD. Not sure if it's the 2.8 motor

the M2 will be out at some point, i think it will be hard to justify paying more for a 1M than a brand new car that is likely better in almost every way

True but people pay large for "older" cars because of the rarity factor. The 1M has that factor. While there may be a dip in pricing initially when the M2 is released it will be short lived.

Why pay 6 figures for a 993 Turbo when you can have a 997 Turbo for half the price? Yet, it's happening right now.

Except for the fact that the 993 is the last of the aircooled Porsches and there is a following for them.

People were claiming that the last year of stick shift 991's will eventually become collector cars because all the new 991 are PDK.

theyre pretty quick as well.

Loved my E-gt. Never would have sold but mom forced me to buy new "reliable" car when I moved away for school. Eventually I bought her BMW. Conflict of interest I'd say!!!

True. My example was poor. I was more getting at the fact that newer better technology doesn't mean a predecessor would be overlooked or not continue to go up in value. The 1M could handle like a charcoal brickette and it would still boast collector prices eventually due to it's one model year rarity.

Rare car indeed, and I'm sure it's quick and handles well but I don't consider it a true M
M cars usually have S coded engines, while the 1M has the N54engine from the 135i, just tuned differently AFAIK.

1 of 220 only sold in Canada. - Makes them a pretty exclusive car.

I Just Sold another 1M and delivered to someone here on the board (again)

1M's use the same motor as the 335is and Z4 Sdrive35is motors (N54 with overboost)

Superb driving machines and are highly collectable cars.

Well BMW considers it a true M, and I feel like they know more about the M division than anyone else.
The M1, and e28 M5 engine code is M88. The S has nothing to do wether its a real M car or not. This car stands for more about the classic motorsport division than anything since the e46 m3 csl.
