would be nice to get some engine shots too!

You are correct. I stopped by the dealer last week to see it in person but it was at the Porsche dealer getting serviced. They confirmed it is not a true RUF just RUF parts.

The parts cost a fortune but man is that car ugly. :heckno:

Z3guy 08-20-2015 08:48 PM

^ touring teg, if you removed the wing, cage, stripes, and wheels, would it look better?. How is the condition of the car? It looks pretty mint

The damage on that S14 is scaring me away from the car.

It looks borderline front frame damage. Without being a body shop expert it is hard to tell exactly.

Oh the bright side, it will probably qualify for Collectors status... which kind of surprising that the owner hasn't done it already especially if he is only driving it on weekends.

funny because i took my actual turbo mr2 from my house on rupert/1st to the old boundary aircare. cold start, november (i needed it to insure for the two months of 2014). it had a chance to warm up for the 2 minute drive and the 5 minute wait. passed with 1, 0, 0.1 for driving tests and 0-0 idle tests.

the "turbo" mode he's talking about is the "power" mode. the button is right under the wiper speed selector.
the automatic mr2's had an ECT (electronically controlled trans). there's normal mode, then "power" mode that altered the shift points. this is the same as today's "DS" or "sport mode". so yes, when it's sitting at 5000rpm at 100kph because you turned on "power" mode, it would pull nicely.

He's not kidding. When I first got my Teg I was wondering why it was so damn slow, and then I turned off the A/C.

Jk it's still slow

asian_XL 08-21-2015 08:55 PM

My old 95 Teg LS had that turbo feature, it added 50hp. Much better than VTECH. Power comes instantly.

Akinari 08-21-2015 10:53 PM

I believe it's the same with all Hondas. I try and keep my A/C off as much as possible because not only does it suck every last ounce of power from the engine, my fuel economy also goes to shit  also it vibrates like hell at red lights and I can feel the compressor kicking in and out as well. Doesn't help that I have an engine torque damper that makes the vibrations 10x worse haha.

So those pictures in the ad are deceiving? Hate it when people can't just post up the damage and save time for others. How was it otherwise?
