My boss had an 06 2.0T, the power delivery felt very poor. Although a chip could fix that.

Even before the tune, the power delivery on my 07 gti was very quick. Was the car AWD or FWD? Quattro drivetrain loss is even more awful than most which may exaggerate the lag.

GTI is a totally different beast for throttle response... I've driven pretty much every 2.0T powered VW and Audi product you can buy and that engine feels downright awful in some of them compared to the GTI which was sublime... I'm looking at you Passat / Tiguan / A4.
