Do u really expect it to perform under snowy condition?

Theres a comparison video of an e46 m3 with proper snow tires vs something else with AWD going up a hill no problem in the snow. Over and over it goes to show snow tires are the real deal and people need to get their heads out of their asses in regards to AWD

edit*
found it lol

^ my E60 M5 with Michelin Pilot Alpins was awesome in the snow..........just because a car is rear wheel drive, doesn't mean it can't handle snow well. Most people have shitty experiences with rwd cars and snow is because they are using all season tires.....

I agree with you there. A little fun fact though was Pontiac at a time (during it's late shitty years) was one of Canada's best selling brands. The 4 cyl overstyled junk seemed to be popular with us for some reason. Ricer years I think.

Their last good cars came way too late which were pretty much only the G8 and Solstice GXP coupe. Both re-branded imports anyway (Holden & Opel). Neither touched by Americans.

Speaking of G8, there's a GT (V8) for sale at Autoway

What about the 4th picture that shows a RIV decal. Doesn't that imply that it was imported from the States too? No mention of that in the ad.

According to S2ki, 04-07 NFR AP2's are all from the States as Canada didn't get that colour option until 08/09.

That chart is missing the data for the LBP colour options. I've seen at least 1 that had a Canadian VIN/title iirc.

I would so much rather have a RWD car with good snowies than a fwd car with all seasons...

To each of its own

LBP was never offered in Canada. We got the shitty orange instead.

Google image search comes up with nothing.
But if you blow up the pics, the car doesn't have a front plate.
2 bikes parked behind the car, one of the bikes has a cover on it.
First pic is taken near a highway as you can see the side of an overhead highway sign.
Don't recognize that stretch of road.

Guessing maybe a fake ad?

No I couldn't get any grip going up the hill. None whatsoever. Manual car and I even turned off the traction control as it was making things worse. This was going up to cypress for a snowboarding day. Luckily my buddy was driving too and gave me a ride up. On the other hand I took it around my neighborhood in areas that I knew no one would be in and I drifted it so nicely around corners. A lot of fun. I have an e70 x5 now and also 2 e46 m3. 1 convertible 1 coupe supercharged. The m3's are now in storage sadly. I wish it was warm all year round.

You still haven't told us what tires were on the car.

I had snow tires on my S, and for the most part I could go anywhere.

There was only one time when the snow was more than a foot high that I struggled.

There was that and the time there was ice covering Boundry rd and my non studded tires struggled to get the S up the hill.

westopher 10-29-2015 06:46 PM

I've had no real problems in my m3 in anything under a foot of snow. In a good snow year I average 30 days a season snowboarding and I've only once been semi stuck. Thats more to do with how much lower it is than stock.
Supercharged e46 m3 sounds awesome. Link to any pics?

Which snowies do you run?

westopher 10-29-2015 07:12 PM

Hankook I pike Rs from the lovely boys at speed syndicate.

dared3vil0 10-29-2015 07:17 PM

I'm guessing you really like them?

westopher 10-29-2015 07:40 PM

Well, they are winter tires so they are a far cry from PSS but yeah they are great in the snow. I hate them on dry pavement but they are no worse than any others. Vancouver is a tough place because half the winter is warm enough for summers.

TBH I don't really remember. this was probably like 4 yrs ago.. I probably did have all seasons michelin ps2.. no issues driving in flat ground (in the snow) but going up the hill was tough the get grip.

I unfortunately don't have many pics.. maybe 1 or 2 which I'd have to look for.
Maybe this or next weekend I'll drop by and snap a couple of pics of it. It has the vf engineering 420 supercharger with bilstein pss10 coil overs.
