Stay away from that 2000 m5, definitely something shady going on there. I could already tell the first time I saw that ad. It's best to find one that is graciously maintained with a higher price tag than to have one that needs work done because this is going to be an expensive toy. This car will eat brakes and tires if you plan to drive it hard which you will the first couple of months because the smile you get on your face when you punch it... v8 all around beast hng. I bought my m5 from splendid, they take good care of vehicles before they are sold, full inspections and it is done at a German only shop which is run by the previous owner of my car. Having owned my car for a year, zero problems. My car got everything assessed before it was handed to me from new tires to the ac being recharged. What ever it needed, it received. |
A few potential good buys. Anyone thinking of getting into an aircooled VW for the first time should really have it inspected by an aircooled expert. http://images.craigslist.org/00D0D_d...Dj_600x450.jpg 1966 Type-1, $6850 VW Beetle 1966 1963 Type-1, $4600. Definitely needs the engine cosmetically addressed. I personally can't stand the two-tone paint, but I know lots of folks like it. http://images.craigslist.org/00T0T_2...B8_600x450.jpg 63 VW Beetle 1972 BMW 2002, $1750 Front strut mount (hidden) rust is a killer on these, probably needs a BMW aficionado to look at it carefully. From the photos, description, looks like a good potential for a quick resto into a driver. Though, I suspect you want to be comfortable welding body sheetmetal. http://images.craigslist.org/00L0L_c...ko_600x450.jpg 1972 BMW 2002 - classic round tailights, chrome bumpers 1953 Chevy Bel-Air for $5000? Not sure what the catch is. http://images.craigslist.org/00x0x_k...Bh_600x450.jpg 1953 Cheverolet Belair 1970 Pontiac Lemans $4900. Needs a motor, but domestic motors are cheap! http://images.craigslist.org/00U0U_e...Yz_600x450.jpg 1970 Pontic LeMans -Dave |

That yellow 2002 lives up the street from me. Figured he was hanging onto it for a rebuild later on down the road. Guess not. Cool looking car. |
