I had the auto and it was good.
They updated the autos in 07 and the TL-S.

3rd gen TL-S is arguably the last performance-serious Acura (before the new NSX) before they start making boats. Beast of an engine and serious suspension. Manual has LSD.

At those prices, they won't last long assuming they are very clean. I'm very happy with my TL-S. I test drove fully loaded 4th gen with SH-AWD before deciding to get the 3rd gen TL-S.

I'm also wondering what the big deal with these cars is... just another bloated front wheel drive sedan. Nice enough, but nothing special.
Likewise the CL-S... I mean it was an overgrown soap bar when it came out (sedan was always better looking) and it's still an overgrown soap bar today.
I guess everyone has their tastes... but I don't get it. So many other cars out there.

Not really a big deal, just probably one of the last sporty reliable cars from Acura. They looked good when the came out and arguably still looks good today. Generation after went more of a luxury direction instead of the sporty with the Type-S.
Not much else has a 286hp V6 and a 6MT option in a roomy and reliable sedan. Probably in the european side theres more to choose from but hey I enjoy waking up every day and knowing my car will start and all I have to do is put gas in it and do oil changes.
To answer the original question, I have the auto right now and it drives fine to me. Its no dual clutch or 6MT but its not unresponsive or reluctant to shift down or anything. No reliability issues reported especially if you do trans fluid changes every so often.

I guess everyone has their tastes... but I don't get it. So many other cars out there. | When it debuted, it was dubbed the best front drivers other than the Type Rs. It bested the more powerful G37s around courses tested by car and driver iirc. The 6speed was especially great.

Ah the Tls. I had an 07 Tls 6 spd. I must say while the car did look nice and all i did not like it too much. It was too refined. Just felt like any other sedan but it did catch speed fast. Needless to say I sold her (very cheap I might add). It just didn't give the the thrill I needed.

Why even post those? They're both $50,000 cars by the time you've imported them.
