Nothing personal but unless they had help I wouldn't trust them with any mechanical work. also giving them the benefit of the doubt and they do know what they doing, it shouldn't take much work to swap the blocks around and then sell for more money.

I always have trouble seeing a car as a deal when they say a vvehicles needs a new block, tranny, head etc and they have the parts to fix, but won't fix it. It comes across shady as Fuck. Fix the car, and sell it for more money, but more times then not it needs more then what is listed.

I'm not gonna argue with you on that one haha. 100% agree, I hate whenever I go see a car, seller says he has parts to fix something that's broken.. even worse when it's something as simple as swapping a light bulb lol

Didn't answer my question of where it came from ... There can't be that many on Vancouver Island; would've been cool if it was my former neighbour's former vehicle from 26+ years ago but I guess I'll never know.

Jesus that was fast. I remember only seeing a handful of these on the road. Didn't even know it was called a Doka. Even if it had some minor rust, still pretty damn cool to own.

They sure don't make em like they used to.

In fact you also have to pay Freight & PDI, Air tax, tire levy, and some dealership fee if there is any. So that's easily 5k+tax difference there.
Also most of nissan dealership doesn't have many 370z in stock.

I wouldn't call it a screaming deal but this guy just lose close to 10g including tax in less than 6 months

Canadian average is 25k annually. So really not that much.

How many k would you expect in 2 years? 30k is still nothing in the big picture.

thumper 11-27-2015 12:56 PM

like i said above, the two 2014 used models i've seen so far had under 20k kms (14k and 18k kms respectively), so i was judging based upon that...

underscore 11-27-2015 01:04 PM

Personally I'd be okay with "double" the mileage to save 15%/$5k since I don't think 12-16k km is much of a difference, but then I've only driven higher mileage vehicles.

smoothie. 11-27-2015 03:04 PM

be careful

if that used dealer got two, there could be a chance they're ex rentals.

MPTness 11-27-2015 04:22 PM

Mileage only tells half the story.

Would you rather have a 3 year old car with 60,000 KM that was only ever serviced at Mr. Lube with zero service records, or a 100,000 KM car of the same age that was consistently serviced at the dealership with full records?

Well the one with 100,000km for sure.

If it's a rental though, I personally wouldn't ever buy one. I'm not saying they're all bad, i'm not saying don't buy it if it is, i'm just saying i'd never buy one...

While most people don't purposefully abuse them, you don't really "care" about them in the sense of going wide open before it's totally warmed up, maybe putting it in drive while rolling backwards slowly, etc. Little things that can add up...

Test drove an ex rental '12 Mazda 3 with my bro which felt like shit. Seriously. Lots of body damage (which I noticed after) and in north van it literally struggled to get up the hills with 3 adults in the car. After I pointed out all scratches on the trunk and bumper (where luggage would be dragged) they finally admitted it. North van Mazda, was so not impressed. And they were "certified pre owns".

We went to Surrey Mazda, got a better Mazda 3 with more options, less km and full records for cheaper than what north van asked

There's no third pedal.

Also doesn't help that the shift knob looks like it could be a manual
