Not sure if it's a particularly good buy as I'm not too familiar with the general pricing of these, but as I understand these are relatively rare vehicles, especially a one-owner example.

Rare to see one-owner cars like that but the seller is asking too much. 11-12k depending on the condition of the car is a fair range.

Haha.... comes in to good buys thread, posts $525,000 car.

I do enjoy the fact that they're selling a car that costs over half a million dollars, but they still feel the need to charge the $395 documentation fee and make sure to mention that it still applies. Losers.

Let's be frank, with as much technology that has been packed into M5's, you are bound to have problems. The E60 M5 was pretty reliable in my experience, except the SMG hydraulic pump. The E39 M5 was a pretty basic analog car with minimal electronics compared to the E60 and F10. If you can get a good deal on a E60 M5 6sp, you are laughing. As much as everyone is loving the E39 M5, the best deal is a manual E60 M5.

Actually, since it looks like they have several car ads displayed on craigslist its a necessity for them to advertise all their cars consistently. Leaving out the documentation fee in their ad would be opening up a price discrimination case where assholes in the "what do you do when you buy a used car" thread would jump onto the dealer and ask "You're not asking for a documentation fee for the LFA, why should I pay for it for my Nissan Sentra?" So no, I wouldn't call them losers.

I don't understand whats so hard about tying it in with the price of the car. If someone tells me a price, and then says oh yeah but we need 400 bucks to sell it to you as a fee, I'm likely to get angry and tell them to fuck off with that shit. Advertise the cost its going to be to buy the fucking car.
If its that important advertise it as $525,325.
If you are a business, you should include the cost of doing business in your prices. Safeway doesn't charge me a receipt printing fee when I buy groceries.

I trust the cashiers at grocery stores a lot more than most car salesmen.

I'm with you. When i'm buying something I want to see the number I have to write a proverbial cheque for. I don't want to have to add doc fee, or the tip at a restaurant etc to see what i'm paying...

2010 Porsche 911 GT3 for $136,000 in CALGARY | autoTRADER.ca

http://azr.cdnmedia.autotrader.ca/1/...pg?w=800&h=600

This may or may not be subtle foreshadowing.

Compared to US pricing, it genuinely is a good buy IMO.

fuck, the E88's on that GT3 and that E46 M3 = KILLIN ME RN! :QQ:

swfk 12-21-2015 10:24 PM

I love it when the car has no options, it's a "highly desirable stripper model". When it has options, "this vehicle is fully loaded!"

320icar 12-21-2015 10:43 PM

Different people value different items in a car. Look at the e46 m3 CSL. the most expensive one with the least amount of options. Not even a radio

twitchyzero 12-21-2015 10:47 PM

if it's a fun lightweight weekend car, something like a/c delete or no a/c from factory is neat
if it's a daily and sacrifices comfort...fully loaded is more desirable, unless it's shit that's prone to failure (liftgates, power sliding doors etc)

swfk 12-22-2015 04:01 AM

I understand the CSL. "Less is more."

Some options you gotta have as a special GT car though. Say a 997.2 GT3RS, it can be optioned without the buckets, without rollbar, without sport chrono. Just those three would make the car not a stripper, but more desirable in the used market.

Anyways this is CL good buys thread, this is a cool fun daily for sure, Focus SVT
