as long as its been serviced regularly. most cars just keep running. |
I'll take 330k and still running smooth and strong over 80k and limp mode |
Mine was maybe serviced too regularly, since some cunt forgot a timing chain tensioner pin tool in my motor, some sanding marks on the head, and some other various fun things to deal with that there was no way of knowing about. I just cant believe it ran for the last 10k perfectly when some random tool was sitting in my engine. My mind has beyond exploded right now. Its literally a supernova. |
:( sad to hear.so is it minor repair? |
I realize this is the most desirable of all non turbo classic 911's, but this is just getting downright stupid. I also realize this goes against the threads rules completely. 1988 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA !!! |
But it has a factory tale...... I'd love to hear it. Quote:

302 + T5 |
Best part about the 302 + T5 swap? Lowell at RG knows exactly how the exhaust has to be routed and it works perfectly for a turbo setup!!! Once I have fully recovered from the party lifestyle I'm going to totally turbo the 5.0, the exhaust routing is basically designed for a big fat turbo :D ...but most likely this will happen after I've already maximized the N/A setup and can't squeeze anymore out of it. Good luck West, damn how does someone lose a tool in a motor?!?! |
White 2008 CLS AMG MSRP's on this car new was like over 120K CDN With only 8000 KM's its basically a brand new AMG car 52K CDN All that depreciation is good news for potential buyers. I prefer this body still to the newer CLS models. 2008 Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG Coupe |
thats a lot of money for that old body style.... |
1972 BMW Bavaria and 1973 BMW 3.0s Sweet titty fucking christ. That is some investment opportunity for someone with the know how and time. |

...Oh look at that. The yellow beetle is back up, this time for $500 (again) but without the roof rack: Volkswagen beetle 1969 for parts I actually had an agreement to buy the car for $500, but was out of town and had to wait a week to pick it up. Seller turned down the offer, said he was keeping it, and then immediately posted it on CL for $700. Now it's back up for $500. I sent him an email asking what was up... Quote:
-Dave *edit* anyone thinking of buying this one should be aware he can send video of the engine running, but it no longer runs and he suspects an "ignition issue". Could be anything, and a timing issue *could* cause detonation which could have melted a piston. Might me a simple fix, might be a motor rebuild. |
Do it. He already made at least $150 on the roof rack. |
I don't know much about old Beetles but I would guess you could part that out for more than $500 if you can't get it fixed. |
Oh I know beetles very well, I know exactly how much I can get over time. It's making my money back in a reasonable time, plus the parts I want to keep. Gotta break even in a quick time frame otherwise there are much better options/years to consider. '69 doesn't have a tonne of desirable parts unless it's got all German sheet metal which, based on the photos, isn't likely. |
as someone intrigued by but not at all familiar with beetles, what's the appeal of all German sheet metal? |
