You're right. Not a flaker. But not a smart consumer either because they drove to a store to look at it and then went home to buy it online to save who knows how much money only to have to wait for the item to arrive in the mail and if it goes to the post office, then they have to drive to the post office to pick it up.
Just like the people that will wait in line for over 10 minutes with the car running to save $0.02 per litre on 40L of gas.

While I agree with your sentiments on those examples, its not really the same as someone who comes to your house, checks out your car, asks to drive it, asks an hour of questions about it and a bunch of emails when they have no real intention to buy it.

My favourite Craigslist moment selling a car was when I was selling a 1999 Lexus ES300, which was rebuilt, so you get all manner of sketch-ass people in those circumstances... anyway this Australian skater guy shows up with this super hot west van Persian princess... I'm already thinking "How the fuh?" about the whole thing, he is obviously on something, knows nothing about cars, but has a lot of bravado... opens and closes all the doors, hood, trunk, asks me if we can drive it and I said "Sure, but I'll drive if that's ok" and he doesn't object, so we go around the block... park... he asks me to pop the hood, he pulls out the dipstick and pretends to look at it... then he looks at the header on the engine and says "That doesn't look stock" and I was like "Well... it is" and he says "Why's it all brown then?" and I said "That's what happens when metal gets extremely hot... your car will be the same if you take a look" and all the sudden he reaches out and GRABS IT WITH HIS HAND... like literally right where there's a sign that has a line through a hand not to touch.... which of course resulted in a severe burn to his entire palm!!! He leaps backward screaming and holding his hand, I had to let him in my parents house to run his hand under cold water and then all the sudden he starts acting fine again even though his skin is like melted and I am telling him he needs to go to the hospital... he shakes his head and goes back out to look at the car, reaches out to touch the fucking header again and I grabbed his arm and said "DUDE... it's HOT, you just burned yourself on it like 2 minutes ago!" and he pushes my arm away, goes "You know what, I don't trust this car... I don't trust that part of the car, it tried to hurt me" and then he tells his GF "Let's go" and he jumps in his car and peels off.

To this day... I have no idea..... I always wonder what happened to them.

Again, it's all part of the game of trying to buy/sell something.
How many times have we seen and ad and very little or incorrect info was posted on the car.
Something as simple as the mileage or correct status ie illegal's old S2k.
We may have had the intention of buying, go to the car and ask a million questions only to find out the car is a rebuilt status. Then we walk away and we are the ones that are labelled a time waster because we had no intentions of buying the car. Or offer them what we feel is fair and then they get pissed off because we wasted their time and low balled them.

It's true some people get labelled as time wasters unfairly because the car simply wasn't as described, but when someone comes to look at my red Gti and says "I like it but I'd just never buy a red car" I'd say it's fair to say they are a time waster. I mean it's not like my car was white in the ad photos. I'm not saying everyone who looks at a car and doesn't buy it is a time waster, but acting like they have the intention to buy just to fill an afternoon I'd say is.

Typically, these K20Z1 cars are quite rare, so their asking prices tend to be in the $12 - $14k range, and the mileage would be higher as well.

If the ad is real, either the car has some serious accident on its records, or the seller has no idea how much the car should be worth.

With an older K20Z3 Civic Si, the car can be had for a LOT cheaper -- as in, $10k+ cheaper. That's a LOT of extra $$$ kicking around in your pocket, or $$$ that could go into mods.

You missed the fact that the K24Z7 (or any K24 for that matter) does indeed have a noticeably higher amount of torque than any K20 motor. Contrary to your opinion, I tend to find the K24Z7 to be the more balanced all rounder for everyday use.

I would not compare one motor to the other in terms of which one is better, rather, do you prefer a higher power band with very rev happy characteristics, or a more balanced all rounder that can become very fast, for relatively cheap (responds very well to boost like S/C), and still revs high.

I'd like to say I do this all the time but I'm trying to help my wife buy an old minivan right now (Mazda MPV or Mazda 5) and it's kinda hard to not waste somebody's time as she needs to drive them both to see if they're the kind of car she wants. We tried stopping by at dealers but the MPV in particular is too old to be sold by dealers (unless you count the sketchy ones on Kingsway and King George).

The K24Z7 certainly has significantly more low end and mid range torque. I am not disputing that fact at all.

I am calling the K20Z3 the better all round performer because I find it to have an entirely sufficient amount of torque for regular street use, while having a noticeably more responsive high end. It is an engine that I can thoroughly enjoy both on and off the street, and that makes it an all round performer.

The K24, on the other hand, feels quite a bit lazier at the high end. As such, I would only consider it to be a superior engine for street use.

Another reason I recommended the K20 Civic Si is because of price. At the very least, it is something that should be considered if threezero is looking at a K24 Civic Si.
