$12 - 14k as asking price. I'd imagine the actual transaction price to be a bit lower.
But still, 83k km on the odo is very low. The ones I've seen before are all in the 120k+ range.
You can certainly get an earlier model year RSX-S in the $4-5k range. They will be more beat up, have much higher mileage, and has the K20A1 instead of the higher powered K20Z1. The suspension is also slightly better in the 05-06 cars as well, but there is only so much lipstick you can apply on a pig to make that rear suspension work.
you cannot really go anywhere on an island. you are sorta stuck on the island. this ad is from duncan. there isnt much to do there, so he might travel more to victoria / nanimo which is about a 40-50km commute to do things.
for referance, i live in victoria..
my 02 EP3 has 70k
my 08 MDX has 40k
my 93 prelude had about 120k before i got rid of it last year, which is much lower than average
all island driven
My favourite Craigslist moment selling a car was when I was selling a 1999 Lexus ES300, which was rebuilt, so you get all manner of sketch-ass people in those circumstances... anyway this Australian skater guy shows up with this super hot west van Persian princess... I'm already thinking "How the fuh?" about the whole thing, he is obviously on something, knows nothing about cars, but has a lot of bravado... opens and closes all the doors, hood, trunk, asks me if we can drive it and I said "Sure, but I'll drive if that's ok" and he doesn't object, so we go around the block... park... he asks me to pop the hood, he pulls out the dipstick and pretends to look at it... then he looks at the header on the engine and says "That doesn't look stock" and I was like "Well... it is" and he says "Why's it all brown then?" and I said "That's what happens when metal gets extremely hot... your car will be the same if you take a look" and all the sudden he reaches out and GRABS IT WITH HIS HAND... like literally right where there's a sign that has a line through a hand not to touch.... which of course resulted in a severe burn to his entire palm!!! He leaps backward screaming and holding his hand, I had to let him in my parents house to run his hand under cold water and then all the sudden he starts acting fine again even though his skin is like melted and I am telling him he needs to go to the hospital... he shakes his head and goes back out to look at the car, reaches out to touch the fucking header again and I grabbed his arm and said "DUDE... it's HOT, you just burned yourself on it like 2 minutes ago!" and he pushes my arm away, goes "You know what, I don't trust this car... I don't trust that part of the car, it tried to hurt me" and then he tells his GF "Let's go" and he jumps in his car and peels off.
To this day... I have no idea..... I always wonder what happened to them.
Hands down, the funniest I have ever read on this board. Pretty sure I just woke up my entire house laughing my ass off.

Hahahahahha he's trying to wrangle your car like Steve Irwin sticking his thumb up a crocodile's ass.
I know this has been posted before, but does anyone know the story behind this cressida? 5speed swap seems pretty tempting, based on the ad it seems like a pretty decent car.
Has anyone checked it out? It's been on the market for ages now it seems like.

He has rear-ended someone recently. It looks like he resprayed the front bumper but the supporting metal piece is split. I'm not sure why he wouldn't replace it unless the frame was a little bent or something.
Shift knob is falling apart, roof had a little trouble comming down and the rear window is split.
However, it did drive nicely, and sounded great. I sent him an offer of $8500 (back when he was asking 10 or 11) and never heard back.
By the time I decide to go look at a car, I know I'm going to buy it unless I find something wrong with it that I wasn't expecting and the seller isn't willing to negotiate on the issue.
I hate wasting time.
Except tons of fuckers like to say "you gotta come see it in person" and won't give other details over the phone or email.

Well then, that explains the shitty Ebay headlights.
I would stay away honestly, seems like a total hack job.
That SHO is one hell of a car. The 89 is considered the 'holy grail' of the entire line.
Top speed of 140mph in a $33,400 car (adjusted for inflation) is pretty impressive. I still kind of want a SHO but the maintenance (or lack thereof) scares me.
That said, this car is still priced too high. Restored or not, that odo is high. If the car was all original with half the clicks, MAYBE it might be worth $6k but as it stands, no. The California plates don't help the ad's case...

Ironically, the weakest part of the car is the manual transmission
there is another video of this that i can't find anymore. the caprice was maxed out at 120mph and the SHO was pulling away. the caprice was forced to let the crown vic take lead and it eventually caught up but then you saw what happened next (brakestand)...

Ironically, the weakest part of the car is the manual transmission
I used to be super active on SHOforums and I have to disagree, I think the 94 and 95 are the most desirable in 5spd with the paint-matched door handles and spoiler (unlike 92 and 93 which had black door handles and usually no spoiler)... hard to find because of the influx of automatics in the 2nd gens, fewest numbers and much preferred styling over the 89-91 years... rare colours like Opal Mineral Frost and the blue I can't remember the name of... mine was a red 94 with full grey leather and 5spd, which was super rare... most manuals had half cloth and half leather.
The transmission was a piece of shit on that car... totally ruined it... MTX-IV Mazda unit I believe it was... but the real killer was the french sourced Valeo clutch... ugh... try getting a decent launch with that thing. What a wonderful engine though, the sound of those secondaries opening up past 4,000RPM and the way the front of the car lifted when they did was pretty awesome, pulled hard all the way to 7,000 effortlessly. Interesting to read up on those Yamaha engines if you have a chance, they were actually seriously detuned after Yamaha developed them because they were afraid it would outrun the Mustang's V8... original prototypes were over 300hp.
I actually bought an engine on its own after I sold the car intending to find something to swap it into... but after a few years gave up and sold it to my friend who grenaded his SHO engine... sigh... would still like to get one and put it in something some day. That engine is super tall though, so tough to find something for it. The SHOtus Lotus Esprit comes to mind but already been done... was thinking about my dad's 74 Capri but he has collector's plates on it now so that's a no go hahaha
