Except it's going to cost anyone in the U.S. Another 15-20% to get it there by the time it's all said and done which is our saving grace for keeping these cars in Canada.

With the dollar continuing to plummet I fear it won't be enough to keep the cars in Canada...
for some reason i recall the initial price was in the mid $20's cdn, before the price kept falling until the ad was gone?
i can't find the thread on RS where this car was discussed. after it came across the border the wheels/tires were changed for a different stance, there was a lot of suspension work (went from air ride to coils? not 100% sure), and more mechanical stuff was done?
i think it's an ls6. looking at what had been posted online from before it mentions ls6... and then i found this. good to know it's not a trailer queen :

Yeah, I wonder what's been done over the last 3 years.

1998 BMW m3 convertible
This is kinda shitty with the rebuilt, but holy fuck thats a lot of car for 5k. Luckily, all e36 purchases made by RS members come with a westopher to help you with parts and issues for the nominal fee of lots of B.C.craft beer.

Well it all depends on the retail cost to replace the top vs the value of the car. I bet the guy is full of shit about it, but I do believe the damage based on replacing a fucked up top from BMW being 5k ish.

A quality rag top with install would be around 2k. If the skeleton of the convertible top was damaged thats a whole nother story which would cost alot more.

someone told me about how his wife's mini was written off by icbc in one of the last windstorms. a large tree branch fell on went through the soft top, broke all the side glass and because of all the rain overnight the interior was waterlogged and ruined. bc hydro chainsawed the tree branch off her car and she drove it to the claim centre. her car was only about two years old.
