Color is a huge turnoff and for $140K it should be a desirable color like silver/black/white. But who am I kidding, if I had the money the first mod i would do is get a matte wrap to a color I like.

Doubt it will sell for his asking price. 4 owners is a lot and I would be more comfortable at around $100K. 140K and I'm just buying this:

2010 Porsche GT3 RS

A little on the pricey side i think but you never see these anymore

1991 Honda Civic DX

Shark Tank 07-12-2014 03:04 PM

Nope. That color is undesirable and if the color were white, silver, black it would have a broader potential buyer market. Since when is a maroon red a visually appealing color? There's a reason you don't see new Porsches or any sports car in that "arena red".. It won't sell to anyone but a select few old rich niche buyers.

Just an example of a glossy wrap that looks good if you don't like matte. Remember you can get it done in any color.

It's an appealing color because it captures a specific era. You can slap the same paint on a 2014 911 but in my opinion, wouldn't capture the same look and feel of a pre 2000's Porsche. If I were looking to buy a 915, I'd find one that wasn't in a White, Silver or Black. I'd look for one in this specific color such as this:

You do have a point in saying that it appeals to a smaller market but wrapping a unmolested 90's 993 in a bright ass green is more appealing than original paint. I say nuh uh honey. Nothing really beats original paint, unless you have a car that's in black, white or silver. ;)

Kidding me? $4k for a 23 year old Civic? As good of condition as it's in, that's about twice what it's worth.

Color reminds me of my old 190E 2.6 :tears:

TouringTeg 07-12-2014 05:38 PM

Tofu: that M5 was posted a few pages back. I agree it is quite a bit of money. I actually wonder if it will be a collector car one day.

911s in rare colors are selling for higher prices. Riveria blue, zenith blue, etc. What do I know though. I messed up and bought an ugly maroon 993.:woot2:

Now that you mention that, the wipers are also RHD oriented.

Ad is gone now, but HK2000 also noticed the brake master cylinder was on the right side of the engine bay.
