maybe it's leaking more oil than it can burn... seeing all the oil on the block in this pic could mean a bad camshaft end seal? valve cover gasket? i remember mine weeping a bit but not this much:

Hard to say. Owner's hosed down the engine bay at least once seeing how the paint is flaking off on the VC.
Maybe his oil leak is a lot worse and he's washed some of the evidence away.

Chassis was an SI since it has a sunroof.
Personally, would have preferred it with the stock 4 bolt hubs and do the ITR calipers with Mini 280 mm rotors.
Finding 5x114.3 wheels in 15's is a pain in the rear.
Looks like he is running an ep3 5 spd tranny so gearing is going to suck a little.
There is a reason people are opting for the z1 6 spd.

3 years ago, a bunch of K20 swapped hatches were asking for $8K and sold for $7K so hard to ask for $13,500.

This was listed 4-5 months ago IIRC for like $8k? Or something like that

what should it be? there was a 2008 the other week that was advertised for $45000, and it's gone.

these are the 2007's on autotrader in canada:

(590x1.2 = 708)
(708-540 = 168 rounded to 170)

Actually, instead of multiplying by 1.2, dared3vil should've divided by 0.8 instead. So the 708 becomes 738 and the net gain is nearly 200.

Hmmm ... there is one in Surrey for $30K, but with more mileage. That one you posted just feels expensive for a 10 year old car. I have no idea how much they are new.

You can get a lot for $37K ... eg. how about this one, a 2006 Maserati Quattroport with the Ferrari 430 engine, 106K kms, for $30K, that's a lot of car for $30K!
2007 MASERATI QUATTROPORTE M139 NO ACCIDENTS (WHITE/BROWN)

Maybe I was enamored by the brand. No intention of following through, maybe a test drive just to hear that Italian engine.

bcuzracecarz 02-22-2016 04:37 PM

I friggin love the rs4 but god damn do those motors scare the ever living shit out of me

Hopefully it was backed into the stall, so you don't have to try and use the reverse gear lol

at that price, that surrey rs4 i suspect has blocked heads from the carbon buildup that they are known for at high mileage that can cost a fortune to correct.

brand new base price was $94k cdn

stay away from the early pre-2007 quattroportes because of the duoselect transmission burning through the single plate clutch. they are cheap used because it costs thousands to fix, and it will just eat the new clutch again (i was told ~70k kms or less) :(

just some seafoam and an italian tune up

thumper 02-22-2016 06:14 PM

ha. i wish. i remember my old vw 2.0 fsi motor needing a chisel to break up the carbon. i can't imagine how long it would take to work on a v8. trying to use seafoam will only make you get to know your neighbors as you decimate the local mosquito population.

Low mileage 997.1 Turbo. Price is almost too good. If legit and you have $75K burning a hole in your pocket....

SkunkWorks 02-23-2016 07:25 AM

^ Very likely fake. That hardly looks like anywhere in the GVRD.

thumper 02-23-2016 07:38 AM

how is this price? engine runs but needs a bottom end rebuild. i can't see any rust in the pictures, but there seems to be some body misalignment in the left rear and something is going on with the rubber seal on the windshield header:

It says everything stock but those are not stock tailpipes/exhaust.

This car has been for sale for a while. Look at all that black on the rear bumper. Just like my high mileage ITR and Poopsicle Civic.

You can buy that car, and do JasonTurbo's cheap ring job like the ad mentioned and drive it around for a while. Not sure how much that would cost. I am currently debating that idea as my B18C1 has 400K km's on it and is missing quite a few ponies. BibleThump

you know its fake when air Canada calls me back before someone wanting to sell me this

AudiFreak 02-23-2016 12:42 PM

Usually do not post dealer ads, though I feel this is a cheap luxury. It is the V6 N/A model, so no turbo issues, and comes with a free 1 year powertrain warranty. I would say it's not bad for the price.
