Rs discount for my 993 anyone? I still have it. So many offers. Even an offer to trade for a black local E30 M3 and cash. Thats right westopher! | I've dialed the bank twice - but just can't bring myself to borrow for a toy...even if ticking the arena red box would cap off a 20 year dream.

I feel like the Cayman is the black sheep of the family more so then the 996's. Everyone at my work makes fun of my Cayman and they all drive mini vans/SUV/eco boxes. Other car people/Porsche people when i tell them I have a Cayman they ask why didn't I buy a 911? So all this negativity about the cayman is bring down the prices.
Like this one; Porsche Cayman S Priced little high but if he takes closer to 30-32-ish it's a good deal. Ad says firm, but I have found nothing is firm when you have cash. | Isn't maintenance on CS substantially higher though? S2000 is so easy to work on and the cost to maintain is cheap (even if you take it to a shop). There are tons of S2000 with over 200k miles and still running strong. Not sure about longevity of CS given its lack of track record. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Caymans are a great deal ! No 911 tax
Thanks Producer. One American and two European buyers in play. Looks like all 3 will be viewing PPI results at a shop Monday. Strange situation.

It's just not as fast around a track because Porsche deliberately gave it less power so it wouldn't be beating their fancy Beetles.

Correct me if I'm wrong though. | I'm not sure about maintenance first hand as I haven't had to do anything other then tires since I bought mine. But I was told an oil change is around $200. But they seem very easy to work on your self. There are a lot of DYI on the forums and every seems to do their own maintenance.
As for life, yes it's not going to be as good as a Honda. But on the other hand there are a lot of Cayman's online with over 100,000 Miles and I heard the highest Cayman right now has over 266,000 Miles!
The only thing to be worry about Cayman's is the famous IMS bearing. Unlike it's brother you can't change out the IMS in Cayman's. Porsche re-did the IMS for the Cayman's to make it larger and you can't change it unless you rebuild the engine. From polls online and hearing for other owners the IMS failure rate is around 5% of cars. That's the risk I'm willing to take. Most other car companies have a higher Lemon rate then that.
I think that if someone is looking for a two seater fun toy, to not rule out the Cayman. Go take one for a test drive and you'll be hooked.

The good thing for you about the IMS failure is the best way to keep it from being an issue is drive the car. I sure wish the cayman was a possibility for me, but I need a back seat. Doesn't need to be a very usable one, just needs to be able to fit one Monty.

| Very rare 1997 Mazda Miata SPEEDSTER only 150 made. 1 owner low Kms
lol, anyone here checked this car out?
Was posted today later in the afternoon. Seller messaged all interested buyers to meet at his shop at 8:30PM at night in Delta. By the time I got there, it was a fucking gong show with 10 people surrounding the car. Later more people came. I'd be curious to see what's gonna happen with it. My guess is that owner will either jack up the price or there'll just be a bidding war rofl.

Re: 996 & the whole paranoia of IMS exploding
People need to drive these cars regularly. The RMS seal will leak if the car just sits there (most cars will) and the 996 is no exception. You also have to change the oil regularly, and most people don't, hence why the IMS explodes. People then start going up to the 996TT, which is a great car, but they have their fair share of coolant hose problems. Porsche built these cars to be driven, not to sit around or to prance between Whole Foods and Urban Fare like a Honda or Toyota normally would.
