imo, $20K would be a good deal. No one seems to like grey Porsche interiors, plus no one likes the eye yolk headlights. for $30K you can get a lower kms 996.2 2002+ for similar money maybe even a 2002+ C4s.

I saw the car every day near my old place. Driven on winter tires year round, always covered in bird shit. It's a nice looking car imo, but someone rolling in general altimax winters in the dead of summer isn't likely concerned about maintenance. I still think it could be a good deal, but I imagine the purchase price isn't going to be what it costs you for the first few months of ownership.

Sorry ... but not understanding the value of this 01 M5. Why wouldn't you want something like this instead:
06 M5 $22K - 2006 BMW M5 LOCAL NO ACCIDENTS !

When OP has no clue about how much of a legend the E39 M5 is and how solid of an example that one posted is, proceeds to share an SMG E60 M5 with over 200,000kms in a shitty ass colour with an ad posted by some fuck who doesn't know how to spell.

68style 03-08-2016 10:57 PM

To be fair, that's way too high a price for an '01 M5 with high mileage and a cloth interior.

I'd take that special alcantara interior over plain jane leather any day of the week.

Key points to consider
- Kit seems to be a replica(?) Fitment is good but not perfect
- Bilstein coilovers
- Car needs a new cluster LCD
- IMS not done
- Serviced most or all of its life at Weissach.

Yes, the kit on that car is a replica, and not the greatest one.

That last point is a deal breaker. These guys are a bunch of dumb mother fuckers.

 06 smg m5

Galactic_Phantom 03-09-2016 12:11 AM

I've never driven a E39 but I would imagine it would be a better drive with a manual than with that garbage smg transmission on the E60, E46

TouringTeg 03-09-2016 05:29 AM

BCR not sure of srs. My 993 was serviced there 97 to 04

That M5 is sweet despite the pics on the beach Finding a nice facelift model is becoming tough. Even preface are also few and far between.

does anyone know of a newer news investigation report than this (2012-2013)? Most of the dealers in this report are still around, but still...

That is quite price given the mileage..even with the mods, since they do not add value especially if it is a collector vehicle.

Tell me the story dukes! I was considering overpaying for a 911 from there when the time comes, because they always have at least 2 that I would want at any given time for only slightly more than market value, and one particular great sales guy I'd want to give my business to, but that worries me if they can't wrench.

from what little i know, those with maybe 1/2 the mileage of this usually go for north of $20k. i've looked at dead ones that need a mechanical rebuild for $5-6k, and really beat up drivers that are either rebuilt, a tired worn out track whore, or need just about everything fixed or replaced for $10-14k.

with the prices of the DC2R going through the roof these days, even the clean high mileage ones are worth something, provided it's mechanically sound and the aftermarket stuff on it is quality product. but i agree if these was 100% stock it would go for more. regardless, a US buyer would love to grab this at what current exchange rates are at these days and we'll lose another one :(

Westopher, you should look up how many times they have been sued by customers. They are one step up from being straight up crooks. They are notorious for telling customers that they threw away the OEM parts when infact they resell them. It has happened to 3 friends with 911 Turbos when they went there for turbo upgrades.

jasonturbo 03-09-2016 08:51 AM

I was pretty happy with my GT3 from weissach lol

Car was 100% mint, Touringteg will confirm.
